Weber makes great grills and this griddle is fantastic. I definitely recommend going for the 36" over the 30", especially if you ever cook for 5+ people. I love the ability to cook a whole breakfast on one surface, easily stacking up pancakes, french toast, eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage. I have a kamado cooker which is very flexible for things like bbq and pizza, but the griddle opens up new things like smash burgers, cheesesteak, and fajitas. It's great vegetables like onions, mushrooms, and peppers. It's also a gamechanger for crispy buns, even better than grilled. For now, the Weber Slate is the king of griddles. It's a little more expensive than some of the other options, but it's absolutely worth every penny.
No basis for comparison but I love this griddle! Seems very well built. The cook top is amazing and does heat evenly from side to side but the front edge is cooler than the rest, but no big deal. I steam clean with paper towel and then a light coat of oil after each cook and it’s always ready to go. Everything I’ve cooked so far has come out great! Really love the extra large side tables for all the stuff you need to griddle and my wife and kids got me the paper towel and trash bag holder set for Father’s Day which makes cleanup so easy, just have to take them off to put the cover on. Definitely want to get a few more of the Weber Works additions. Wish that Weber would make a NG conversion for this 36” griddle so I didn’t need to worry about propane tanks anymore, but other than that it’s awesome!
I absolutely love this griddle & so glad I held out (aka waited) for the 36” Slate. Excellent quiality, as usual, from Weber. Easy to use & even easier to clean!
I purchased the Slate Griddle for my husband for Father’s Day. He has been researching griddles for some time and decided the Slate was the one he wanted based on the shelving space and rust resistance. It took the two of us a few hours to put together but it was fairly easy to assemble. The directions were pictures only without text which was a tad tricky at times but there are numerous helpful videos from different online sources, however we did not end up needing them. We both were very pleasantly surprised with how sturdy the shelves are and how easy the griddle rolls on the wheels which also lock in place. We purchased some of the accessories Weber offers and plan on purchasing more in the future. Everything is the excellent quality we have come to expect from Weber. My husband has used the new griddle 5 times so far and he is thrilled with how it cooks and I am thrilled with having a break from cooking! His only complaint with the griddle has been that the temperature gauge does not seem to be accurate however he has overcome this with a laser gauge. He knew the included temperature gauge was not to be trusted as he had read lots of reviews that said this was the case and we can confirm this is true. That being said, this in no way should take away from anyone purchasing this awesome griddle. We are thrilled with this purchase and highly recommend this griddle over its competitors. Weber products are simply the best and worth any extra you may pay for the quality and reassurance that they will last.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sold my old griddle for the new Weber Slate 36". Very glad I did, Weber quality, performance and appearance continues to lead.
This purchase was better than I could have expected...I looked at many reviews prior and selected this one. Even heating, high BTU, wind resistant, cooking surface ready to go, and in the end, as a first time outdoor griddle, worked like a champ
