I was one of the lucky ones to place an order as soon as it became available, and I must say… wow. It was worth the wait since the Slate line-up was announced, especially if you have a big family or entertain frequently. It is a joy to cook breakfast on this, having everything on at the same time with its large surface: beacon, pancakes, egg rings, and English muffins. It lives up to the Weber name, being built like a tank with high quality accessories as well. The only thing I wish it came with would be screws or fasteners for the side tables metal sheets to hold them in place better, especially when they are folded. Other than that, it was also relatively easy to build. With one person, it was a bit of a challenge, but with two people it shouldn’t take more than an hour. Looking forward to smash burgers today!

Love the flexibility the griddle offers vs. the traditional grill. The griddle allows us to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our first thing to cook was smash burgers which are now a family favorite. We have also made stir fry, pancakes and bacon and eggs. The construction seems to be solid, easy to move around and nice finish. My only issue and reason for a 4 star is within 2 days, the electronic temperature gauge on the front of the unit was full of condensation and I could no longer see what the reading was. There is definitely an issue that would allow that happen within 48 hours after taking delivery.

Wow, this griddle is phenomenal. Heats up fast and maintains the heat well. It doesn’t cool off just because you added food. I have been using a stainless griddle on my Genesis a though it was great but wouldn’t get hot enough. No problem with this one. There is a learning curve as it gets hot and stays hot. Watch the temperature and the food as it gets hot and cooks fast. You will be wowed.
This griddle is spacious. I cooked smash burgers for 10 people and wow they all fit and cooked at the same time. No more having to cook in stages. Everyone eats at the same time. Same thing when I made fried rice for twelve adults.
One of my friends cooked dinner for everyone the other night an he was amazed with the non-stick surface. He said he put some chicken down and forgot to use oil. His comment was “Wow it didn’t stick”.
Have I said “wow” yet. You’ll be saying Wow too.

Most reviewers received something, I didn’t.
This is the best griddle I have ever operated/owned. I’ve used 2 competing brands that I’m not allowed to mention (also restaurant grade griddles).
Gets hot very quick. The temp gauge is accurate enough. Very good considering it gets its reading from below the griddle.
Carbon steel is awesome. This fat daddy is heavy. Doesn’t really need oil added to it after, but I do it anyways. It feels different than any other griddle when you run your metal spatulas across it. It just feels right.
All of the additional features are really cool. Weber works is cool. But, we buy products for the main purpose. The main purpose here is griddling. This bad boy is second to none.
All you need to know: if it exploded one day out of warranty, I would order a new one.

This is my first griddle/flat top and I can’t get enough of it. The versatility alone is amazing. I don’t see myself using the grill for a long time. It’s a substantial unit compared to competing brands.
