I’ve been a lifelong Weber user and first learned to grill on a copper kettle Weber with my dad. I did quite a bit of research on the majority of griddles out there; read reviews and watched videos and always kept coming back to the Weber Slate. My current Weber grills have lasted 15 plus years with regular care and maintenance. I’ve only had to replace my ash cleaning system once on my Performer! Weber knows how to make their products last and another reason I went with the Slate is because of the warranty. They have one of the better warranty’s should anything happen. Since purchasing I’ve made breakfast and dinners on it; pancakes, French toast, bacon, smash burgers, and chicken fajitas among other things. The wife and kids have said the bacon is the best when I do it on the Slate. I went with the four burner Slate for the cooking space. If I’m not doing a ton, I just use 2-3 burners and the far side is a warmer/rest area. For my first use I only washed with soap and water per the directions and got to cooking. After the cook, clean up was easy and then I did a seasoning. So far everything has come off clean and no sticking. I’m anxious to see how the flat top does over the next season since it is rust resistant. The other features are great, having a shelf and cabinet to store utensils is awesome. I’m also excited to expand my Weber Works collection to make my cooking experience even better! I would seriously consider keeping this as a top contender if you are looking for a flat top!
I have used the griddle 3 times in the last 3 weeks. It is everything and more that I had hoped for. I followed the instructions to season it and it worked out perfect. Can't wait for the next cook.
Been looking for a griddle for some time. Had a Weber Genesis with a 3rd party griddle top. Loved it. Decided I needed to upgrade to a Griddle and haven't looked back. The 36" Slate is exactly what I needed. I like the versatility of being able to customize the tables and inserts. The extra lift up table is very handy for my finished food items. The Griddle was seasoned but I decided to go through the seasoning process that Weber describes and it went flawlessly. Highly recommend this one over the others that are out there. Weber makes a well built Griddle!
