Love weber grills! I have 6 of them at different locations. Both gas and charcoal.Kettle grills are awesome. Only thing about 2800N is the side trays do fold up into grill like old Q grills. You have to detach and lay side trays inside grill when not in use.
As a new owner of the Weber Q2800N+, I can confidently say that this grill addresses the few issues I had with the traditional Q models while retaining most of their advantages. One of the standout improvements is the addition of a second burner. This feature allows the grill to reach very high temperatures, even in cooler weather, which was a challenge with the smaller Q models.
The secondary burner also provides the flexibility to cook at lower temperatures, in the 225-250 degree range, making it suitable for low and slow cooking. However, it's important to note that the secondary burner is positioned directly in the center of the grill without any shielding, which can create a hot spot that might cause burning if not monitored closely.
Another change is the design of the side tables. Unlike the legacy units where the tables were on a hinge and could fold in and out, the Q2800N+ requires the tables to be snapped into place and removed for transport. This is less convenient compared to the folding tables of the older models.
Overall, despite these minor issues, I have been very happy with the Weber Q2800N+. It offers great performance and versatility, making it a valuable addition to my outdoor cooking setup.
Needs work in: 1. Keep side flip-up trays like on Q1200 models. 2. Spark ignition or gas ignition to center burner needs improvement, too much time delay. 3. Gas line fitting from hose to grill is not identified by size/type, pls. Share that info. Having griddle on one side and grill on other are great work! (Had to purchase griddle separately.)
I have owned several weber models in my lifetime (I'm 79). This is the most efficient one yet. The construction, other than the side tables, is Weber solid. Just love it. Six Stars ******
Nice little grill with some good features. Heavy grate, thermometer and easy operation. The side fold down “tables” are a joke. Flimsy and constantly falling off “tables”. Dual flame would bring this up considerably. I would buy again as I am not a frequent griller.
We have and still have Q Webbers. We like the new Q 2800 because of the size and the added extra burner. It is just my wife and I so so the size is perfect for us and can accommodate extra cooking when we have guests.
