This BBQ performs as good as the large expensive BBQ’s. The dome lid is perfect for distributing the heat and the burners are the perfect design to ensure your food cooks evenly. Would recommend this BBQ.
I am enjoying grilling with my new grill just wish you would have included a manual on how to grill with it and a few recipes would have been helpful. Everything I have learned about this grill was from tutorials on You Tube.
I am a long time Weber kettle user using hardwood charcoal as my primary fuel source. Due to a prolonged fire ban in our area this summer which prevented me from using a charcoal BBQ, I decided to purchase a propane unit to supplement my grilling needs. I was concerned as to the ability of a portable unit being able to produce enough heat to properly cook food but the Weber Q2800N+ has far exceeded my expectations. Cooking temperatures are reached within just a few minutes and the sear it puts on meats is outstanding. Heat can be reduced by not igniting the second (center) burner, however it would be a challenge if you were attempting to have a Low and Slow cook due to the overall level of heat even when one burner is set to low. The generous cast iron cooking grates have been able to handle any quantity of meat I have thrown at it, including 4 pork tenderloins at one time! Overall I am super impressed with the quality and capability of this unit, demonstrating once again why Weber is a leader in this industry.
This is a quality build. The unit is fairly lightweight and easy to transport, yet also feels durable. Its first use was on a camp trip, cooking a bundle of NY steaks and some shrimp for a big group of friends. It heated up quickly, and had plenty of surface area to cook everything at once. Love it.
The grill works as it should, it is a little surprising that a company a prestigious as Weber, would not include a cover for their product, disappointing.
I only use Weber grills and smokers. Quality is top notch and they work. The reason for upgrading to the 2800Q was for improved cooking options such as searing meat. The improvements over the Q1200 are nice and obviously Weber did their homework.
The only negative has nothing to do with how the grill functions. It’s about the height of the grill, I have not been able to find a plastic tote it will fit in and allow the tote’s lid to work. The grill’s lid sticks above the height of the bin. I’m an RV’r and being able to store gear in stackable bins is very important.
