Totally Jawsome!

Since 2010 I have been a Jaws fan and I have been a Lego fan for much longer. When I saw this one drop I knew it would wind up on my list. It is a great piece to my movie and film collection. It is a complex build and takes a lot of skill. The front or bow of the boat was one of the more complex parts to put together. That was the only trick part. I love the detail to this set. There is no shortage of the nostalgia from the original 1975 classic horror film. I admire the detail and the hard work that went into this one. I have to say the boat is my favorite part of this one. I love the shark but the boat is just as much of a major player in this as the shark. You cannot have a Jaws set without the mighty and intrepid Orca. The Mini figures are well done. I love how each one looks just like their movie counterparts. This set really puts a smile on my face. You're definitely going to need a bigger boat my fair Spanish Ladies if you get this set. It is costly but a great build and loads of fun.

Worth The Hassle

So I do like this set after it’s finished but the boat and base builds were pains.
Boat is fragile on back and front when handling so any pressure adding during build pushes pieces apart it up. Base had similar problem when pushing pieces on.
Saying all that I’m glad I got set and do love the details on boat even if it’s missing rifle piece. I’m putting the whole shark on display because of how nice it looks too.
Overall a good looking set that has a few hiccups during building process.

Fun But Janky

Although it’s a fun piece, I will agree with others that it is unstable and very odd fitting when building especially the first few bags when building the orca. There are two small blue pieces that will not stay in place and fitting the bot together was very difficult and frustrating. It seems very flimsy if you move it or shuffle it too hard. I thought the blue base was very odd too, almost not needed really. Overall it’s a fun piece to display but I wish the designers put in more effort.

Overall this is a great set with a ton of great detail on the boat. I watched all 4 Jaws films in terms of building the set. Roughly 8-9 hours. I really appreciate all the props and fun details added into both the boat and the shark. Being able to display the shark by itself or in a scene setting at the back of the boat is an amazing detail. I only have two small issues. 1. The dorsal fin on the shark is too small. I wish Lego would have repliacted the dorsal fin from Creator set 31088 only in grey, then the shark "Bruce" would have been perfect. My other issue is with the Bow of the boat, because of the angles some of those tiny pieces are hard to stay in place given the curvature of of the set. Wish it was more streamlined to the rest of the boat. Otherwise a great set from Lego. Jaws fans will love this set.

Lego needs a bigger boat

TBH- just starting the build and so excited. Two things to note, on page 4 section Da Dum... Da Dum... Quint is referred to as a army veteran- let's give the guy his due! Quint was a navy veteran who served on the USS Indianapolis. Second, if the boat was just a bit bigger... maybe Lego could have added a full, working shark cage. That would have put this set over the TOP.

My awesome aunt and uncle gotten me the Jaws Lego set for my birthday which was this past Sunday but they given it to me just last night. and I just finished today. I honestly really enjoyed building this set.
They (same aunt & uncle) also giving a light kit for this set and I managed to put them on the set itself and Jaws set looks so awesome with the lights on it!
And this was the very first time I’ve ever gotten a light kit for a Lego set.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Visually awesome, flawed hull design

I was eagerly awaiting the release of the Jaws set and knew it would be a special display piece. What I didn’t know was that the design would be flawed. The front hull section is literally held together with one stud on each side. You try to attach larger side pieces and the studs break apart inside the hull and you have to disassemble just to connect it back. I ended up having one come lose and I have opted to leave it like that because it would require a lot of delicate disassembly. Also, the ropes are not so easy to get balanced, I was fairly fortunate and it only took me 2 unties to get it right. Finished product is awesome, great display piece but Lego did not engineer the front section well at all and will frustrate a lot of people.
