I question some of the build sequence and a weakness in building the hull. Why are steps 158-160 after the mast is installed, should be before. Why isn’t step 156 closer to the final builds.
The build between step 85 and 114 was made difficult because the part added in step 85 is too fragile. It took me about 45 minutes to add the side pieces to the bow because the part in step 85, which is a support piece, kept coming undone

You’re gonna need a bigger boat!

Da, Dum Da Dum, this is a real spectacle of a set I just love the design of the shark and boat. The figures are so well designed, and I especially love the Chief Brody mini-fig. This is a set I would definitely recommend to get when in stock.

Build it and never touch it again!

I am a HUGE Jaws fan, and once I heard about this set I knew it was a day-one purchase for me. The attention to detail is amazing, and the attempts to recreate the Orca as it appeared on screen since 1975 are commendable.
With that said, I must say this is the most unnecessarily complex LEGO build I've ever done. The boat feels flimsy at nearly every touch, which is only amplified as you must manipulate the boat constantly while continuing to build on it. I spent more time replacing parts already placed, as they would fall off (especially those blue pieces on the underside - those who have built it know what I'm talking about) when trying to place other pieces. I had no choice but to use a drop or two of glue in a couple of spots. The time spent building the Orca was doubled, having to backtrack when pieces kept falling off. Also, the decision to require the mast lines to be tied on rather than have ball joints on either end (it would work if the strings were cut to the perfect length on either side) is a real head-scratcher. It's finished, but I am hesitant to touch it again and have to put something back together again. I think more time and care could be taken for future builds to use more pieces that actually fit together and lock in completely rather than having them partially rest on flat pieces for mere aesthetics.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needed a little more engineering

I was excited to build this set, and it was going pretty well right up until I had to build the bow of the boat. I'm not sure what happened during the engineering process over at LEGO, but this thing is one of the most delicate and finicky sets I have ever built. Near the end of the bow process, a small piece that is attached near the beginning of that section in the instructions can come off with very minimal pressure applied when attaching the sides. This prompted me to take it apart and try again, thinking I didn't do it right. Unfortunately, it happened a second time even after taking more care to ensure everything was properly built. On my third try, I was able to VERY gently attach the sides without dislodging the smaller piece, however when I finally attached the bow to the rest of the ship, that piece came off again. Since it can't be seen and I am only displaying this, I can let it go. Overall, it's a neat set and cool for Jaws fans. I just wish the engineers had found a better way to make the bow section of the boat.

Amazing looking set but VERY fragile

I love the way this set looks. It's such a great idea and everyone who sees it is amazed. Building it on the other hand was very frustrating. There are a lot of small pieces that hold the whole thing together like the 1 clip in Jaw's body. I ended up having to rebuild sections because a hard-to-reach piece fell off trying to assemble it. Also, it is very delicate and for display only. Once it is together stick it in a glass case and put it on a shelf. Definitely not for playing with.
