Weird design

The bumblebee itself is cool. However it continues to fall apart during the transformation. It’s not very sturdy at all. Great color just easier to keep as a car. My first disappointment in Lego.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's a transformer that does not transform

Fun build, and very cool building techniques. However, it falls apart when being transformed, and returning back to model form. I was super impressed by the form and functionality of Optimus (rock solid), this build broke my heart - my expectations where far too high. Optimus spoiled me!

This was a fun build and was super cute in car form. I got this for my husband to match his Optimus Prime.
Now where it gets tricky is transforming. A lot of pieces kept popping off. In total was 24 steps to transform. This was a gift to my husband he had to calm down getting upset seeing pieces fall apart. We add them back another popped off. Once completely transformed we won’t be changing again. Love the set.

Could not hate this build more if I tried

I am a child of the 80s and an adult fan of Lego, so I am really excited about this collaboration. But I absolutely hate this build. I am so frustrated now. I was trying to learn how to transform Bumblebee and was following along in the video on the app. For 1, you can’t pause and rewind the video on the app. But as I was transforming the build, it broke apart. It went flying across the floor on my kitchen. This is an absolute disaster. I am frustrated and am going to put these pieces in a bag to try and reassemble at a later time. I wish I could return the set. Part of the fun as a child was the transformation of the car or plane or whatever into a robot. But this transformation, should not be like this. Lego should have gone back to the drawing board on this before releasing this set. I know a lot of folks have enjoyed this build. But I hate it.

Missed potential

Now this set looks amazing in the car form, and the building experience was actually pretty nice, but my main problem with this set is how difficult it is to actually transform, which is the whole gimmick of it. when I was trying to transform bumblebee several pieces kept on falling off because of how complicated it was to transform him. Optimus prime definitely wasn’t this hard to transform and I’m disappointed. Bumblebee is practically impossible to transform, and I will be keeping him in his car form. Overall it’s a nice looking set

I’m really disappointed with the LEGO Transformer set. The instructions are confusing, the pieces don’t fit well, and the final product barely resembles a Transformer. The transformation is clunky and hard to follow. Definitely not worth the money!

Solid build

I actually built a MOC version using this set and I love how it turned out. The basic set is cool for the nostalgia but I preferred the newer battle silhouette. My rating above was only negatively affected by the price, as most sets are generally overpriced, IMO of course.
I would recommend this to a friend!
