The great thing about UCS builds is the amount of detail they provide. The UCS Tie Interceptor is no exception. The level of detail in the cockpit, on the winds and the exterior body of the ship is absolutely amazing. I was also quite taken by several build techniques that I had never seen in other builds. This was a fun build, slightly repetitive due to the four wing sections but still fun.
One of my favorite builds so far. Enough pieces to keep you busy for hours. Good size overall when finished building. A great addition to my Star Wars collection. I highly recommend this piece to add to your Lego collection!
The finished build is absolutely stellar. However, the build process is fairly boring and repetitive. There are a lot of repeat steps. A lot of 2X, a few 4X. Worth the slog for the end product, though.
I got swept up in the hype of SW day this year and grabbed it. I don't regret it, but reminding me of the cost makes me cringe slightly. It looks great, was fun to build, it's just so big!
I’ve purchased many 18+ sets and never had any issues but this set takes the cake for hardest set to stay together. Every time I try to add the wings, something inevitable falls off and it’s hard to figure out where it came from the sea of gray pieces. I’ve had to take it off the stand multiple times to fix it only to have even more pieces fall off. It’s way too fragile of a set and I’ve gotten way too upset fixing it every time. Don’t recommend.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
