I can't shake him!!

Beautifully modeled and detailed build of the dagger-shaped TIE Interceptor. Very sturdy and weighs more than it appears, as the wings are quite hefty, but do not sag. Yes, you have 4 almost identical wing builds, but the wing geometry is so precisely accurate and snapping the plates into place so satisfying that you never feel bored doing it. The cockpit is the most detailed of any UCS ship thus far, but the stickers are annoying, as always.
Three tips that improved the model and the building experience for me: 1) If you dip the stickers in a mixture of water and a bit of dish soap just before applying them, you will get a little more time and leverage to slide them into the correct position. You can then dry them with a paper towel. 2) The 1x3 tiles applied in steps 100 and 119 are only fixed with one stud, so when you touch them when holding the model, they slide out of alignment and can become loose. You can avoid this by using 4 of the leftover 1x1 round plates (there will be black, gray, transparent, and sand-colored ones throughout the build), and adding one to the bottom of each of the 4 1x3 tiles. This will keep the tiles aligned and prevent them from sliding when touched. 3) The angle of the stand with the vertical is quite large. It can be reduced by a maximum of 15-20° by moving the Technic pins connecting to the back-bracing brick 3 holes down. Accessing the 3rd hole requires moving the side bricks of the stand down by one hole, but there's no loss of sturdiness.
In conclusion, had been waiting for over a decade for a proper counterpart for my UCS Red Five X-wing Starfighter, and this set blew away all my expectations!

Looks great, left me wanting more

I grew up shooting down TIE Interceptors in X-Wing, so when I saw this set in the store with Star Wars Day bonuses, I had to have it. It's my first UCS set, so my expectations were high. Now that I've built it, I love how it looks and how solid it's built. Looks great on the stand.
Compared to other sets I've built, though, I'm a little disappointed for the price. The intricate cockpit with lots of details was cool, but gets hidden away. After that was finished, the build got repetitive - half the bags were building the four wings in the exact same pattern over and over. And a lot of the details seem fragile and likely to break off if bumped.
Once it's done, there are no articulation or play features beyond opening the cockpit - the Concorde has landing gear, the BTTF Delorean has different configurations and wheels that retract, even my First Order TIE Fighter has firing missiles.
So, in summary, it looks gorgeous, but I got more enjoyment out of building and playing with other sets for the money.

A good looking set/ build; was a very hard build to keep certain pieces stay in place/ keep the set balanced during the build towards the end

Flimsy, sloppy build

Verified Purchase:No
I got this as a post-holiday present to myself, and it’s been an exercise in frustration. Once I got to bag 8, things started falling off willy-nilly, and I kept having to go back several steps. The core of the ship drops pieces, pieces were missing, and I’ve had to cannibalize other lego sets to progress. Truly disappointing.

I bought this almost the day it came out. As a huge star wars fan this was a must buy. For others considering to buy this I would give it a 11/10.

Lego Innovation Continues

From Vader's Tie Advanced 10175 to the Tie Fighter 75095 Lego continues to advance on the sphere shape of the cockpit. This design created many one stud attachment methods. While necessary it allows for the pieces to move when touched and thus once the build is complete it cannot be handled without repositioning pieces. This creates a very low "playability" with UCS sets they are more models, but I found the movement frustrating when building. I'm very pleased with the wing design. Very solid, and both sides have great details. The cockpit of this UCS is crown jewel. So many display panels. The detail is amazing. While I dislike UCS sets using stickers, I did appreciate the level of detail that went into the model. Great set and even better price considering the last couple UCS sets were very expensive.

FOR THE EMPIRE

I missed out on the UCS Tie Fighter and I wasn’t missing out on this. I love how big the wings are. The way they’re locked in from the front to the back, allowing for a very secure hold is a genius move. Kind of wished the stand allowed it to display it tilted. I messed with it to make it stand up straighter. But overall I’m glad I bought it.
