This product has its issues during the built but once complete it’s amazing. Looks great and wasn’t a very long build. If you’re a Star Wars fan this is a must buy.
Finished the large X-Wing a couple of weeks ago, and was really excited that this became available so that I could “match” the set. I was really looking forward to this build while having some downtime from work.
Unfortunately, this set fell well below my expectations. I was able to order it before if became available to the public and I wish I would have waited for a while to learn the experiences of others.
There were pieces missing from several of the bags early on, so I had to order parts and finished the early part of the build canibalizing parts from other bags and/or using parts I had leftover from previous builds.
I just started on step 8 and have since quit out of frustrations. The build at this point is extremely fragile and not very forgiving when assembling. Parts just don’t seem to have that “click” or sold feel when snapping together. At this point I would just like a refund or a simple replacement. Doubt that’s going to happen from Lego though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was so excited to build this TIE Interceptor for May the 4th weekend. This set was the perfect build to celebrate Star Wars, and replay my favorite fighter sound effect. Those great “pew-pew” moments. Watching Star Wars movies while building the TIE Interceptor, made for a wonderful experience. Overall I was very impressed with this build and would recommend it to anyone. It’s a great addition to my collection.
I grew up shooting down TIE Interceptors in X-Wing, so when I saw this set in the store with Star Wars Day bonuses, I had to have it. It's my first UCS set, so my expectations were high. Now that I've built it, I love how it looks and how solid it's built. Looks great on the stand.
Compared to other sets I've built, though, I'm a little disappointed for the price. The intricate cockpit with lots of details was cool, but gets hidden away. After that was finished, the build got repetitive - half the bags were building the four wings in the exact same pattern over and over. And a lot of the details seem fragile and likely to break off if bumped.
Once it's done, there are no articulation or play features beyond opening the cockpit - the Concorde has landing gear, the BTTF Delorean has different configurations and wheels that retract, even my First Order TIE Fighter has firing missiles.
So, in summary, it looks gorgeous, but I got more enjoyment out of building and playing with other sets for the money.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This set was everything I was hoping for looks wise when it came to an updated UCS Interceptor, but unfortunately mine came with missing pieces. I usually don’t mind 1 or 2 missing pieces from a small scale, main line Lego Star Wars set, but I expect a different level of quality when it comes to LEGO’s UCS line, and this set disappointedly did not deliver on that front.
I would recommend this to a friend!
