I really enjoyed building this set and it looks great on display. the mini fig looks great, and the cockpit is very detailed. my only complaint is the price but that's to be expected with lego.
I would recommend this to a friend!

As this was my first ever UCS set, I was blown away by the complexity and detail this set has. The building experience was very repetitive (I basically had to build everything 4 times), but that’s excusable given it’s a starship and starships are supposed to be symmetrical.
Truly a great build, and the best possible recreation of a tie interceptor in LEGO form. The build is near perfect, with the only flaw being the slightly oversized connectors from the cockpit to the wings, but it is not very evident when on display. Good build and looks great next to the UCS TIE fighter

Amazing on display, but slightly fragile to build

For my first UCS set, I’m really happy with it. It looks great on display, with the TIE fighter pilot minifigure being a great touch. However, when building, parts on the bottom or middle of the center will fall off under very little pressure, making it a fairly fragile set. The mouse droid also looks a bit out of place, but that’s just personal preference. TLDR; Great set with a great minifigure, but a bit tedious to build.
I purchased this for my 13 year old son as it was #1 on his Christmas list. He worked on it nonstop for 3 days ignoring video games and other devices because he was having so much fun. The final product is beautiful and he is very proud of his accomplishment. Now we just need to figure out how to display it. The only bummer was that the guidebook was missing many pages (over 50 steps) which was odd. We were ultimately able to go online and get the digital version to complete the project but it was a pain point in the building process. Other than that, it was a lot of fun for him and nice to see him focus on something challenging.
This overall was a great set to build. Some of the smaller pieces inside the pilot compartment fell off during the build when the larger pieces were going on. This is one of the more solid builds structurally that Ive experienced.
