Slowest Filter Ever

It filters the water as advertised. Tastes great! However, waiting for the water to filter takes an extremely long time. If you have more than two people in your home I do not recommend this filter.

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. From time to time the filter can develop an air lock, some little air pockets or air bubbles that get trapped down inside the filter. Typically this is an easy and quick fix, simply remove the filter from the container and unscrew it from the tray. Then hold the filter sideways/horizontal and grip the filter very tightly and shake the filter with some good force side to side and back and forth 8 to 10 times. This will loosen the filter media and break the air lock.

Works well, but maintenance cost is high

I purchased this filter 2 weeks ago and for the first two weeks, my husband and I were very happy with the product. It definitely does what it says it does and provides good filtration.
However, because I live in a High TDS zone, I have to replace the filter already after less than 2 weeks of usage. Overnight, the water coming through the filter became sour. While I understood the lifetime of my filter would be shorter due to the "Do you know your local TDS?" function on the webpage, I didn't anticipate the lifetime to be for 8 or less gallons for my location! The TDS chart that the FAQ calls you to reference is not found anywhere on the webpage, only in the physical manual + filter packaging. Upon further research, it can also be found online via Google Images, but again is not displayed anywhere on their website, which seems shady. It seems like they are not being upfront with customers on the reality of the maintenance cost for this product. So just be advised! Look up the ZeroWater TDS Chart and compare that to your location prior to purchasing, otherwise you may be making a filter purchase much more often than you think.

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. We empathize with your situation and we have spoken with many customers with this issue. Some of our customers have used other, traditional filtration systems, such as a Culligan Whole House Filter to treat the water prior to filtering through a Zero Water filter. In many cases that will cut the TDS level down enough to make the use of ZeroWater more economical.
There is very little we can do to extend the life of our filters when the water supply is so high in TDS. Our filters are designed to remove over 99% of dissolved solids; in areas with high TDS readings filter life will be short.
