I recently installed the MXT 575 along with a ghost antenna in my 218 Colorado. Went out yesterday with friends on a wheeling day. Great range and sound. Love it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This a great out of the box radio, you still need to program the tones for repeaters in your area which is expected. The screen in the PT is awesome, it allowed me to tuck the radio under my seat without having to drill, or take up space elsewhere. The one main thing that didn't appear to be up-front is you can only set one repeater per frequency. So if you're on the road alot and want to be able to program multiple repeaters using the same frequency on different tones, you cannot do that with this radio. You'll probably want to look at the 500 to do that. If what I'm saying doesn't make any sense to you. Then this radio is probably the one you're looking for, great range on simplex or repeater. The PT is very robust, more sturdy than many amateur radios. I do think the chanel buttons on the top, should be where the volume buttons are front and center.
