The microphone is excellent, but the image is super bright and low quality, don’t worth the money, I prefere the original webcam that comes in my laptop…

These webcams are well priced and work great for almost any little project you have needing a camera. I have a few for live streaming and they work well.

12 months of mediocre to terrible experience

I've had this camera for over a year and gave up today.
I used it with MacBook Pro 13" 2019.
- the camera never worked well out of the box. In dark conditions it was flickering, in bright condition video quality was inconsistent between apps (like FaceTime, MS Teams, Google Meets) - I had to fine tune brightness, exposure, etc all the time
- Since OS update to Monterey the old CamEngine app stopped working. I tried to upgrade to the newer CamEngineV4 but it never worked.
First of all installation is not smooth and straightforward, by default it is installed as a folder with no permissions in Applications (red stop sign with no access), you have to change permissions manually.
Then it still does not work as you have to allow it in Privacy > Camera but the app is not on the list!
Contacted Avermedia support 7 days ago and I am still nowhere. Feels like you are doing testing of their software for them as they shared a newer (beta) version of the app with you which still does not work. Have to provide screenshots, their portal does not accept png which is default format for screenshot on Mac, you cannot attach more than one screenshot unless you archive them in a single file, but zip archive is not accepted.

Spare your time and nerves especially if you plan to use it with Mac. It is not worth it.

Bought this for videoconferencing and worked fine for several months. However, it suddenly stopped working properly in less than one year. I would get lots of distortion or it would zoom in randomly without a reason. The manufacturer also expects you to pay for shipping if you put in a claim under the standard warranty. Wasn't worth the cost or hassle and ended up buying another webcam.

Given that I work remotely and spend a lot of time in Videoconferencing, I decided to purchase a webcam and not just use the laptop webcam. At first, I was impressed with the quality of the video for this camera that I convinced my partner to get the same. He did. Fast forward about 18 months for mine and 12 months for his, both cameras started flickering and providing pink video. They are garbage now. Not sure what is the expected life of this Webcam but I was sure hoping to get more than 1 year. Such as waste.

Not worth the price

For the price of this camera, you would think you get a decent quality picture. If lighting is ideal it's not bad, but anything less and you get a really grainy image. The logitech 920 is leaps and bounds better than this camera, and is about the same price. I only purchased this because it was in the early days of the pandemic/lockdown and all that was available was this or some other shady brands from over seas. STAY AWAY.
