The accessory that you don't know you need.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Elgato Prompter is one of the greatest innovations in personal computing this decade. I'm not even talking about "Streamers"; This is for anyone that uses a computer and a camera for communication, which in this post-COVID world is basically everyone.
It's fit every webcam and mirrorless camera that I have in my studio, and the greatest thing is that it's powered and controlled with a single USB cable. It's just as comfortable on a small tripod running from a laptop as it is on my permanently multi-mounted mirrorless camera. The Camera Hub software provides so much customisation in terms of font size and script width, and in terms of competition nothing else comes close to it in this price range and ease of use. I have used multiple other brands of prompters, but a lot of them require a separate phone/ipad device to display the script, or even a second tripod to hold the prompter in front of a camera. This unit is all in one, and super easy to mount.
Apart from the eye contact in live zoom/teams meetings, it's a godsend for creating scripted videos, literally cutting my production time in half.
I can't recommend this product enough.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Prompter is an excellent addition for both offline and live content. Being to keep better eye contact while not straying from the script is amazing. It also allows for a deeper connection with a live audience with speaking to them directly. When not using it for content the Prompter also acts as a extra monitor which is a nice added feature.

Game-changer, Time-saver

This product has single-handedly improved my on-camera presence in both livestream and video content. I can now deliver scripts directly to camera with confidence and in one take rather than fifteen! My live streams have improved as well by putting my chat on the screen as well as a camera preview so I know exactly what is going on and I can engage with chat more human-like! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product.

A content creator's dream!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The prompter makes my life so much easier! As a content creator, I often need to film pieces to camera that require me to remember a script. This often leads to lots of jump cuts when I can't remember the whole speech. With prompter, I can literally read my script off the mirrored screen, whilst looking right down the lens of my camera. I can also adjust the width of the text shown, and how fast it scrolls. GREAT product for a content creator!

Perfect for Twitch chat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this for Twitch streaming and recording videos since it released and it's been a game changer. I primarily use it to put my twitch chat on the promoter so I don't miss messages and can maintain eye contact while responding. I miss far fewer messages this way! It's great for scripts for videos also. Love it! Once again, Elgato produces another top class product.

Disappointing

This has been a bit of a disappointment after seeing all the gushing influencers talking about it. I also have another teleprompter without a built-in screen, so I am comparing it to that. I bought it with the FaceCam Pro but I also have a Lumix camera that I use it with.
This product has many good features, so I won’t repeat them here. The issues I have are:
1. The screen glare is terrible. I bought this for mixed use as a teleprompter and for zoom calls. For normal use the screen has to be turned down to 20% to avoid glare. You can probably get away with less when using as teleprompter with black background. Other apps don’t respect the brightness setting in Camera Hub when maximised.
2. The monitor is neat, but requires a cable (there is one influencer who gushed that you only need one cable for it!). This cable needs to be directly connected, and not through a hub, so it’s going to be tricky for people with limited ports, especially as you need another direct port for whatever camera you are using. an iPad as Mac display or standalone teleprompter can be used with or without a cable.
3. The screen connection and Camera Hub prompter apps are annoying. It is nowhere near as good as another widely available app. Luckily you can now disable the build in prompter software, but it’s not obvious how.
4. The virtual camera keeps offering itself everywhere and it can’t be hidden.
The solution to the glare problem is a polarising filter, I bought one and it works; but that will only work on a normal camera lens with a screw mount, not the Facecam Pro. So I would strongly recommend NOT to buy this to use with the Prompter.
I would also suggest not getting this at all if you have a Mac with limited ports.

Amazing Product, Ehh Softwarre

The product is very solid and does exactly what it says it will. My issue with the prompter and most Elgato products is that the software can be finicky. My main issue is that the computer thinks this is an additional monitor. Not only that, it almost defaults to being the primary monitor no matter what your system settings say. And then, when you open a window or program, it opens on the prompter -- even when its off or in another mode. I'm sure this will be fixed eventually, but as of now, nothing.

Great prompter but a couple of gripes.

I love this prompter but it's a shame it's so restrictive over what web camera you can use. It means I can position my camera where it needs to be but have to record the session using alternative software.
I really like the new voice sync to control the speed of the scroll although I had to upgrade my graphics card to make it function.
