I had an SWR of 1.38. I think the antenna is tunable but there were no instructions on howe to do so. And expert might think instructions are not needed, but I am not an expert.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this antenna a few days ago to replace the 3 DB gain.. good job guys.. six months ago I suggested some changes to the 6db gain antenna.. hey they're listening at Midland.

I just bought this antenna along with car mount for my MXT275 micro mobile radio. I live in South Florida which has low elevation and the antenna works well enough in simplex mode that I don't to use repeater, except for extreme distances where a repeater is needed. I would recommend this antenna as it has served me well.

This antennae covered all the bases when picking what we needed. With the trails in the areas we are often in having a lot of low overhang, this things just goes with the flow. And the signal is crystal clear no matter how far back in the line we get. Perfect fit if your going to be covering various terrains and distances in a group.
