The MXTA26 6db Gain Whip Antenna works great! Reception is clear and strong, and you can communicate from quite a long distance, under the right conditions. Antenna Wass packaged well, and easy to install and use. Love it!

This is the 2nd MXTA26 I’ve purchased! The first was for the MXT400 and this one for my new MXT500. I prefer these 6db antennas, over a standard GMRS antenna because they provide a noticeable improvement for receiving weak signals. They can ALWAYS hear me because of my radio’s output power, but without the MXTA26, I can’t hear them.

Well built antenna. I also bought the MXTA12 antenna mag mount so I could install the antenna on top of my Jeep Liberty. Stays on top of my jeep even when driving through strong winds. The antenna provides excellent reception & transmission.

I haven't tested transmit functions yet - but the reception of weather broadcast compared to the antenna supplied with the MTX-275 is SIGNIFICANTLY better with the truck parked in the same location on the same uneventful weather day.
