Overall, Better Than The Original Trivac WG509

My older Trivac (WG509) and Leaf Pro attachment hose were on their last legs (patched power cord and vacuum hose, replaced on/off switch, several mended holes and cracks in the vacuum tube), so I decided to buy the newer WG524 to collect and mulch this year's remaining leaf debris.
On the negative side, the WG524 is MUCH more difficult to switch between the blowing and mulching modes and is NOTICEABLY heavier than the WG509. As others have noted, the WG524 really needs either a shoulder strap or wheel supports at the end of vacuum tube to support the added weight.
On the positive side, the straight-through vacuuming design of the WG524 makes it much less susceptible to getting clogged by damp leaves and small pieces of wood mulch or for the plastic housing to get damaged by hard objects that have been sucked up. Also, both the blowing and sucking power of the WG524 seems superior to the WG509.
I almost always use my Worx mulchers with the Leaf Pro attachment and not the small zippered Worx mulch collection bags because the Worx collection bags--especially the several replacement bags I have ordered--are total garbage and generally fall apart after just a few hours of use.
If it weren't for the poor quality of the mulch collection bags and that the Leaf Pro vacuum hoses don't last multiple years and cannot be puchased separately , I would give the WG524 five stars, even though switching between blowing and mulching is more difficult than with the WG509. At least no tools are need to make the switch.

Best tool for taking care of leaves

I bought this tool because I have tons of leaves that fall every year. I am getting older and all that raking and bagging was getting too much for me. I could collect more than 30 30-gal bags of trash every day for weeks. With this tool, I can clear my yard in no time! Such a time saver and the mulch is great for the yard and I no longer have to wait for the collection truck!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't think this would be able to handle my leaves! Live Oak leaves are tough and they always come with small sticks, but the TRIVAC was able to handle them with ease! Thank you so much for making this annual chore so much easier!

Perfect mulch

Well, this is my forth Orange product and it is better and easier to use than I thought. The blower/mulcher is a solid tool as has been everything I’ve purchased.( Not a bum in the lot). This will grind leaves and small twigs into the perfect consistency to use as mulch in its ground up form around trees or in the garden. I will be composting. Listen you can buy it he blue or the red but you won’t find better value and as durable equipment as the Orange!

Great machine

have had this machine for over a month and can say without reservation that it lives up to all it say's it will do. The blower is great in clearing any grass or other debris. The vacuum works really great in picking up leaves and the small branches that you always get with the leaves and then mulches them to were you can save on all the bags you need to fill. Can't say enough on how great this machine is. Highly recommend the Trivac 3-in-1 Blower.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We own the an early version of the blower, (Which we still use). So glad they upgraded the "flywheel" and the attachment bag with a "quick release". So much easier to use opposed to twisting the bag off. Thank You...Happy customer!
