Pluses and Minuses of Trivac

Tried it out day after in arrived-works very well with leaves only (dry leaves work best)- However small sticks, wet leaves have a regular ability to slow or stop unit frequently. Discharge hose for barrel attachment could be longer for easier use but that would probably require a bigger blower to force everything out the end. wet or damp leaves don't completely mulch (needs a faster spinning mulch blade!) Selector switch sometimes doesn't stay in selected choice (vac or blow) shutting down unit until you re-select and latch again. However this is still way above anything else out there!

A Must for Yard Cleanup

I have many leaves to get rid of each year and prefer to recycle them. I prefer using reusable cans for the ones I do not keep instead of paper bags, but never have enough. The TRIVAC shredder system compacts them into mostly dust which makes composing and disposing of the remainder MUCH easier. The steel impeller is by far much better than the plastic one I had in another shredder years ago. I'm sorry I waited so long to buy a new one like this because it lives up to the advertisements.

Good solid leaf pickup and blower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It would have gotten five stars except for the leaf bag. The stitching started to come apart the first time I used it. The quality of the stitching could definitely have been better.

Really works well

I bought this as an alternative to racking leaves and stuffing them into countless bags, and I'm impressed. As a leave blower it really works great, but there are lots of leaf blowers out there. In suction mode, this thing will grind leaves up to well that you could put too many leaves into a 33 gallon trash bag, making it too heave to support the weight. I stop at about half full, which is probably 40 to 50 pounds of ground leaves. I wish the hose connecting the blower to the trash can attachment was longer as it does produce quite a bit of dust which, like campfire smoke drifts towards me, no matter where I'm positioned. I plan to pick up some hose locally to extend the stock hose and that should reduce the amount of dust which needs to be brushed off of me afterwards.
All in all, it works better than I'd hoped and I would buy it again.

good combo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Blower works great, it not that noisy, it's not quiet, but not near as loud as the gas machines and you don't stink like gas when your done. Multi speeds help too. The vac works good too as long as the leave are dry, it don't like sticks small or big, pine needles gives it problems. The dust does seem to blow out some and does get you a little dirty. The good thing to is that you can take a pile of leaves that would fill the back of a pickup box and get it into a large trash can. Dragging the electrical cord around is a pain, but it better then smelling like gas. The bag gets a little heavy, but the strap helps a bunch with it and make the machine easier to handle. Nice machine.
