I replaced a Ring doorbell so it would integrate with the Wyze security system. I’m not impressed so far. I need to upgrade my doorbell transformer, which was never mentioned before I bought it. I feel if it had a battery, like Ring, it would just be plug and play. One other thing I hate is that it sets off the alert if a light is turned on. Very annoying.
Was very disappointed with the doorbell camera. Would not connect to my chime and did not connect to the Wyze chime. I have a lot of Wyze products, but they missed it on this one and maybe my last.
Nice inexpensive doorbell camera. But has issues. It would work if doorbell button was pushed, but could not get the motion sensing to work. Found it has a glitch that does not allow detection zone to be saved. If you customize your detection zone and hit save, when you come back into detection zone what you selected was not saved. Through trial and error found that if you select any of the bottom row boxes in the detention zone, it will not save. Select anything else and it saves fine. Sucks but being able to select anything in the bottom row but at least I found a work around.
Love the doorbell cam. Integrates with smart home well. Downside is the chime mechanism may need a new transformer to make your exsisting chime ring. The door cam does make announcements that "person is detected" but seems to be delayed. The person is in the house before the announcement sounds.
I purchased the Wyze Video Doorbell 2 to replace my Wyze Video Doorbell Pro. The killer feature for me was having full recording to an sd card. The increase in resolution is excellent and the color night mode works quite well. Only downsides are that the camera is not head to toe wide angle so it’s hard to see if packages are sitting on my doorstep, and this camera does not yet work with the Wyze Web View. Setup was very easy and it triggers my original house doorbell.
