The Wyze Video Doorbell v2 does not require existing cameras to function. It is a standalone device that provides 2K video, two-way audio, and motion detection. However, if you're trying to use a Wyze Cam as a chime, only the following models are compatible: Wyze Cam OG

2. Notifications on Your Phone

I have used Wyze cameras indoors for several years and recently added the Video Doorbell to my system. Installation was challenging, but ultimately successful. I do wish the angled mounting plate stood out a bit further from the wall to allow for more clearance for angled siding (the unit slides down into the mount, but the siding makes that a bit tricky). Now that it's installed, I love the notification when someone rings the doorbell, and ability to talk to them even when I'm away from home!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unsecured SD card and easy to steal camera

Packaging was fine. Instructions were good but not great. Provided screws to secure to house were inadequate. The 2 biggest complaints : 1- unsecure camera, anyone can walk up, push up and yank and its stolen. 2 - SD card slot is exposed which is easy to steal also. If it came with a housing that protected against theft of camera and SD card, I'd give it a higher rating. Ive had to now order one off Etsy. Yall should have thought about this in development and the fact it wasnt is shocking.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good video quality, but software needs work. Lots of false notifications. Cars misidentified as packages or people. The camera needs a way to secure it with a security screw or such. Can just be pulled off.
