The unit didn't sound my existing mechanical doorbell chimes with the "Chime Controller" installed per the directions. Seems to work fine without the controller. Don't know what the purpose of this device is. Installing the controller (and later removing it) made the installation much more difficult than it needed to be.
Works great when it works. My issue is that it needs constant rebooting to the point that I am seriously considering replacement with a different brand.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi there! We’re sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with your Wyze Video Doorbell v2. We understand how frustrating it can be to deal with frequent reboots, and we’d like to help you resolve this issue. Here are some steps you can try to improve the performance of your doorbell:
Steps to Address Frequent Rebooting: Ensure Proper Placement:
Make sure the doorbell, your phone/tablet, and the router are within proximity (6-10 feet) during any updates or troubleshooting. Reboot Your Router:
Restart your router to ensure a stable internet connection. Restart the Doorbell:
Navigate to the doorbell’s settings in the Wyze app. Go to Restart Camera and tap Restart. Power Cycle the Doorbell:
Flip the breaker Switch powering the doorbell to the off position. Wait for 10 seconds, then flip the breaker switch back to the on position. Factory Reset the Doorbell (if issues persist):
Remove any microSD card inserted into the doorbell. Detach the doorbell by pressing it in, sliding it up, and pulling it away from the wall plate. With the doorbell powered on, press and hold the setup button on the back of the doorbell for 15 seconds until the status light turns solid orange. Release the button, and once the status light flashes orange, set up the doorbell like New. If the issue continues after trying these steps, we recommend submitting a log through the Wyze app for further assistance:
Go to Settings > Wyze Support > Submit a Log. We truly value your feedback and are here to help. Please let us know if you need further assistance!

This is a great doorbell, regardless of the price. It was so much cheaper than the Ring that I had been using for years, but this one performs as well or better with a much better app. The subscription is also at a better price.
Easier than expected and everything works. Load the app first because it will walk you through the setup. It will use the doorbell chime that came with the house. Additionally I was thrilled that it uses the same app as my Wyze cameras therefore I have the doorbell chime set to function through all my cameras so if I'm in the chicken coop and someone rings the doorbell at the house I'll hear the chime through my cameras and I can talk to the people at the front door live without a subscription.
