Had to send it back once I opened everything I seen it has to be wired which mine is wireless. Mine did not come with chime controller I purchased doorbell only .so I can't speak on how it works
I have the original life doorbell but my chime quit working so I purchased the V2 version and a much happier with its a range of view and clearer picture. I can see my whole courtyard now and not just a quarter of it. The chime on the V1 was cute and fun but you coudn't hear it over the entire house. The V2 can use or existing wall chime. Very happy with V2.
The doorbell cam v2 was very easy to install in my old existing doorbell area, and setup was easy. However it did take a couple tries before it scanned the code and connected. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to complete code scan at all like the floodlight i had to return. I actually did not need to install the controller for some reason, it worked with my setup. Detections are not good. A car will go by and it detects a gunshot, glass breaking, whatever. When it started snowing it would be totally wrong and detected people on the stoop multiple times. Paired with alexa I'm constantly hearing from her the doorbell detected a person on the stairs. I ended up turning off detection entirely. This was after tweaking sensitivity and detection zone. I'm probably going to use this only as a simple doorbell and not hope for anything amazing.
Very easy to install. I was looking for the directions for the installation, but I didn't realize that it was part of the app. I know it saves paper and is more eco-friendly, but it would be better to have a paper one or give you the option to print one out. The camera has a very sharp, clear display.
