Some times it's a little over sensitive to noise and headlight reflections, have had to adjust sensitivity pretty low to keep it from sending notifications and have had a couple issues with the error code 9 when checking a notification playback. although if I click on the okay button then it does play the video. Overall it's a wonderful addition to the house and the on and off issues I am hoping will be addressed in a update.

This unit is a hard-wired video doorbell without battery auxiliary power/backup. I recommend that you check your chime box voltage as suggested as long as you are comfortable with safety when working with AC house current. It should work in most cases. There is a small provided module that rewires into the home chime box and transformer that is not difficult (circuit power off), but you may want to examine the Wyze instructions and your home doorbell just to familiarize yourself. I wanted a video doorbell that would not string me along with charges for accessing my video from the cloud. This doorbell satisfied that feature. I installed the highest memory micro SD card (256G, exfat format). The price and primary feature was the perfect match for me. The doorbell rings on my phone and the home chime box to respond to visitors, along with video storage access to events or past moments and any past time not overwritten.

Mechanical chine wouldn’t work HAD RETURN REFUND

Mechanical chime wouldn’t work Transformer was 24v tech support tried everything the could over the phone , still could not get chime to work .the video camera worked on the app along with ring notifications it had a good picture. Few hours later received email stating that my transformer was not strong enough. 24v is the most for a doorbell. Sent the product BACK FOR A REFUND .

I replaced another brand video doorbell that I had been using for several years with the Wyze v2, and I couldn’t be happier with the Wyze v2. The video image quality is far superior, and the audio is better too. But the real value is in the option to install a micro SD card for local storage. With that, I can ditch the monthly subscription to cloud storage that I had with the old video doorbell. The savings from that for only one year just about pays for the new Wyze v2. Well done Wyze!
