I initially purchased one to try out. Since that time about a year ago I now have 12 cameras on my house to include floodlights, doorbell and garage door opener/closer. Its nice to be able to see anyone who cones to my door and I always knowbit before thry make it there. Cant beat these for security. I woukd 100% recommend these with thr cam plus subscription. I also put these on my daughters house. She loves them too.
Unfortunately I can not turn off doorbell while the kids are playing in front Yard and the doorbell keeps going off, finally had to put piece of tape over the doorbell. Other than this works very well.
Nice quality video. Good detection of people and packages. Good options for customizing alerts/notifications. Install was also easy. Also nice to have it always recording but the memory card access is on the side so someone could potentially remove the memory card. Would have been better to put it on the back.
The video is clear, and I like that there is SD storage. My mechanical chime (16V 10VA) does work with it after finding the alternative wiring instructions.
The reasons why I gave 3 stars: I had to search for troubleshooting bc my mechanical bell didn’t work with the instructions given in the app. This isn’t secured to the base with screws - anyone can easily pull this off the base without tools. The SD card slot is on the side - this should be on the back so the only way it can be removed is by taking the unit off the wall. I had to purchase a 3rd party plate to cover the hole from the previous round doorbell hole bc the unit is skinny (much skinnier than the previous video bell I had that did cover the hole).
not user friendly- and is not battery operated -needs to be hardwire.
