I love wyze products but this is the second doorbell that I've owned by them that gives me nothing but problems. Previously, I had their original doorbell camera and it gave me the exact same issues as this new doorbell camera. Many times the video feed wont load, or it won't upload to the cloud properly. Very frustrating but im glad this one at least has an option for a memory card so I at least have recordings saved somewhere.
This is an excellent doorbell, it doen't have a battery, it connects directly to the old wired door bell. My house is 23 years old and has a mechanical chime. It has a speaker, not the one with solenoids and a sound bar. I was able to intall the Wyze doorbell without the chime controller. It works fine without it.
Really thought I would love it, maybe with an update and a wireless chime. I’m not sure if I’m not doing something right but notifications just aren’t there. I was expecting a notification when the bell was pressed but there’s nothing. I have to use third party apps to set up notifications through ifttt and wireless chimes through Alexa. I replaced another doorbell cam with this because I almost have Wyze everything else and thought the price was worth the update but I’m not exactly happy with the setup. I wish it was a bit more intuitive and would have liked to not use third party apps but again I may be doing something wrong or maybe an update will fix this.

mounting hardware leaves a lot to be desired. This door bell replaces an older G-Nest that had a much superior metal mounting plate and while not bulletproof by any means, was much better suited to a secure mounting on exterior stucco. The Wyze product seems to function better and was significantly cheaper so if someone pulls it off the mount and walks away with it, it's not the end of the world.
I like Wyze products. I held out on buying one of their doorbells until they had one with a microSD card for continuous recording. So then they brought out a video doorbell v2. I bought it. The instalation was a pain because their instructions were sparse and inaccurate. I had to reverse the wiring from what they specified in the instructions to get the doorbell to function properly!
