This camera is much better than the original Wyze door camera we purchased a few years back. The visual are is much wider and better camera overall. We had an existing mechanical doorbell so I upgraded. However, we could not get the door bell to chime using the included chime controller Wyze supplied. We unhooked it figuring it was an old house and maybe the transformer wasn’t the right voltage. My husband removed the Wyze chine controller and rehooked the existing wires back up to the original door chime till we purchased a new transformer. BUT, lo and behold, we had a deliver 2 days later and our mechanical doorbell chimed and has been ringing ever since. So we left it as is because the mechanical chime works as is.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Everything is great except you can't open your wyze lock. Video quality is amazing, the speed from which the bell is pressed and you get the notification and open it. The setup was a bit tricky as my bell didn't need the extra part to work. Overall if this could open your door when the bell is pressed, it would be 100%.

Works well. I installed a 256 sd. It did not work. installed a 128, it worked. Only operates one leg of the existing chime. Door bell does not go Ding Dong.....just dong lol.

I had a very nice Eufy 2K doorbell for the past year, which was giving me false alerts almost daily. I replaced it with the Wyze video doorbell (which was less expensive) and to my surprise, not a single false alert! Alerts me when it should, not when it shouldn't! It also goes with my Wyze scale, door deadbolt, and 11 Wyze Cams! 1 app for it all!
