Unreliable

Installed and connected to network and worked at first. Then shows in the app as off line, despite being powered on. Existing chime won’t work with this unit, but chines on some other Wyze devices. But basically can’t rely on this unit.

Nice Camera View

Nice camera view with the V2, but only works with your normal wire installed door bell chime of your house. Unlike the V1 that worked with it's own wireless chime, that you could change sounds with, this one only does Ding-Dong with your existing wired door chime. Disappointing for me since I ordered two, thinking I would still be able to distinguish between front and side door activity, so now I have one new V2 installed, and decided to leave the V! for the side door, so I know which door to go to when the bells or chimes ring. No telling why WYZE decided to downgrade, on a newer version, and not have the same wireless chime ability. It would be nice if WYZE could upgrade firmware to control the wireless chimes, or do a recall to replace with ones that do. Feel like I wasted some $$'s , SAD

Upgrade from the stoneage

I love the video and audio capabilities. The only thing that is challenging is figuring out how to power through a very old doorbell chime. 0 1 2 3. Forums keep asking for this but it's basically trial and error that I have not finished.

Make sure you have a pre existing door bell

Super easy installation as long as you have a preexisting door bell!!! If not you will need a transformer/ power supply to operate. Easy setup push the button hop on the app and you’re good to go.

Battery doesn’t last more than a few days

If you’re relying on batteries, good luck. With the battery fully charged, it will die in less than 2 days. That’s with notifications turned off, event recordings at 12 seconds max, with a 5 minute cooldown. I also have a detection zone that doesn’t include any sidewalks or streets. I have 3 different batteries, none of them last. I’ve had one firmware update so far, but it hasn’t resolved the issue. At this point I’ve given up and removed it from its mount. Just waiting for a warmer day to install the old Wyze doorbell pro. That one would last 3-4 months before needing a charge.

Not that easy to install!

The black case is nice, but the reason for getting a WYZE is because it is easy to install. This is a hard wire that should be installed by a professional electrician. One wrong install can start an electrical fire at your front door. Just like my WYZE thermostat I paid a professional HVAC to install it the correct way. I learned my lesson, I waiting for a paid expensive electrician to install my door bell camera. Stick with the battery model
