Can’t lock remotely

The entire point of a lock like this is the ability to lock and unlock remotely. This lock requires Bluetooth to do that, meaning that you have to be within 20 feet. It’s completely useless if you need to lock the door after giving a repair person or cleaner access while you are away.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Wyze Lock Bolt has a lot going for it, but there is one drawback that keep it from being the absolute best lock on the market. Here’s what I liked and what could be improved.
Easy Installation: First off, installation is a breeze. The instructions are clear, and I had it up and running in no time. If you’re not particularly handy, don’t worry—you’ll still find it easy to set up.
Solid Build Quality: The build quality is impressive. The Wyze Lock Bolt feels sturdy and secure, giving you peace of mind that your home is well-protected. The keypad is responsive, and the fingerprint sensor works quickly and reliably.
Convenient Features: I really like the auto-lock and unlock features. It’s super convenient to have the door lock behind you automatically and unlock when you’re nearby. The fingerprint sensor is a nice touch, allowing for quick access without needing to fumble for keys.
No Wi-Fi: Here’s where the Wyze Lock Bolt falls short: it doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi. This means you can’t manage it in the app when you’re away from home. For a smart lock, this is a pretty big drawback. This lack of Wi-Fi really limits the attractiveness of the lock and is keeping it from being the BEST lock on the market.
App Limitations: The Wyze app is great for setting up and managing the lock while you’re at home, but again, without Wi-Fi connectivity, you can’t control it when you’re away. This makes it less versatile compared to other smart locks on the market.
Great Value, But there is a reason: The Wyze Lock Bolt is affordable and offers solid security features, but the lack of Wi-Fi is a significant limitation. If you don’t need to control your lock while you’re away, it’s a good choice. But if remote management is important to you, you might want to look elsewhere.
Final Thoughts: Overall, the Wyze Lock Bolt is a good smart lock with some excellent features and solid build quality. However, the inability to connect to it via Wi-Fi is a major downside. I’d give it 3 stars—good for basic needs, but not the best option available.

Well made, easy to install, good-looking lock. However, I have a few issues with it.
- Bluetooth operation does not allow for a remote unlock from the app. It would be great if a wifi chip was included
- Placement of the fingerprint scanner is awkward, it is fully vertical and for an average-to-tall person it is not a comfortable angle to place a finger
- No way to create several permanent or long-lasting access codes (e.g. for guests of family numbers). There's one master entry code for any ad-hoc access there's a temporary, ~12-hour code that the owner needs to communicate to the person accessing the lock
- With this comes limited info - no analysis, frequencies of opening, who, etc.
