The camera is nice but WiFi range comes up short. I had to move it around the yard to have it make a connection

They are slow to respond. I bought 2 and one is10 feet from the router through a brick wall which has a window and it drops communication frequently. The other one is farther from a router and is also slow to display but does not drop communication as often. Picture is decent when I can see it
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Connection is flaky at best I wish there was a way to fully disable cloud services so I can connect to the device on my local network. Also wish there was RTSP support for the camera for an extra backup of footage.
I feel like these features are essential for any "security" camera.
Battery life was not acceptable. It was at 35% within 3 weeks. The number of times it was viewed or the times the light came on was not excessive. Also the light turns off too quickly (less than 5 seconds) and can’t find a way to change the time. A solar panel was not attached.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello! If the battery on your Wyze Battery Cam Pro seems to be draining quickly please try the following steps:
-Confirm that your camera’s firmware is up to date and the Wyze app is up to date. -Ensure you’re using the charging cable that came with your Wyze Battery Cam Pro. -Verify that you’re using a 5V 2A power adapter.
If all of the above is confirmed we would recommend taking a look at this guide for further troubleshooting tips:

The camera works as it should, but it’s VERY disappointing that Wyze didn’t design it to work with their own solar panel!!! They have no solution for this (solar panel is micro USB and cam is USB-C) even though they continue to say it IS compatible in the literature. Furthermore, they made the USB-C plug a right-angle, proprietary shape so even if I can find a proper aftermarket adapter, the camera won’t be able to sit on the surface; I will be forced to either mount it upside down with the cable sticking out the top (and likely far less water proof) or come up with some other solution. TERRIBLE planning on their part and after multiple contacts with them, they offered NO solution or even an apology. Pretty disappointing since I was an early adopter and even kickstarted the first Wyze outdoor cam.
