I had to buy this to replace my Wyze Cam Outdoor v2 that monitored my mail box. The Wyze Battery Cam Pro does not have the base station to make up for the distance. Plus my solar panel connection is the micro USB and not the USB-C needed for the Wyze Battery cam.

I got this camera as an upgrade when the outdoor ver 2 camera malfunctioned and would glitch out every time the camera detected motion. So far, compared to the previous one, I like this one a lot better, as it's detection is much better than the older version. I didn't like the fact that I had to buy the charging dock to charge the battery just to get power to this camera. I wasn't given any other option as it looks like Wyze is fazing out the older camera models and you can no longer buy them at all. The battery is better so I was able to adjust my settings to have a longer record time and a lesser cooldown time, which was a plus, meaning the name is correct. So far, it's been working as expected but I would still love to have a camera with even better battery for a wireless camera. I haven't had to use the spotlight feature at all since I have a lamp post outside my front yard so it's not really needed but it's cool to have.

Video quality good. Light doesn’t always activate when motion detected. Seems like they totally miss some people and vehicles in their viewing area. Takes too long to get real time video activated.

I like the cam just fine. And the solar panel charges it 100% on most days before lunch. Wyze should however state the battery charging dock is totally not needed as the battery can be charged directly with a USB cord inside or out of the cam.
