PIR sensor removed, Human Detection AI not robust

PIR sensor removed, Human Detection AI not robust to identify fleeting person moving quickly across frame. I tested multiple times by going quickly into field of view of camera and getting out of frame quickly. It failed that test. Thieves won’t wait forever in camera frame. PIR sensor is necessary to identify human body quickly in matter of milliseconds through hardware. Don’t know why they removed it (think for cost cutting). The AI is not robust yet to identify parts of a human when face is not visible - that is where the PIR sensor helps as it uses infrared light to identify human body (that never goes wrong). For this reason I am going to return this product. I even tried with different sensitivity levels in the app. But there were always some occasions on which the AI did not pick me up and hence did not record my video (I have setting to only record video when human detected else it leads to wasted storage space trying to record video of empty frames)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It’s a great light that is versatile and user friendly. You can dim it, manually rotate the led lights, hang it upside down, horizontally or vertically. The camera is great. It has all the nice features and excellent scope of coverage. It has schedules and controls on the app for anything you might need. Fully customizable. It’s a win win for me!

I replaced a Wyze floodlight with this Floodlight Pro due to poor performance from the older version after 2 months. I installed this Pro Floodlight very easily and it would not sync to my internet. After verifying that maybe my internet signal strength was not enough to reach this floodlight, I added a range extender. It worked and the Pro floodlight was activated and worked……for about a week. It records every movement , but I am not able to view a Live Feed when I want to view the Pro floodlight. That’s why I rated it one star. The only good thing about the camera is the ability to record…. Hopefully that doesn’t stop on me.

Everything works perfect except I can not view time lapse video on the micro sd card. When I go back let's say an hour it just shows the latest view. I have bought at least a dozen cameras over the years from you and never had this problem.

Not sure what took Wyze so long to come up with this but it’s absolutely awesome. The image clarity is incredible and the floodlights are very bright. I’ve gone thru over 6 different floodlights and this is by far the best especially with the hi resolution camera. Will wait to see how the AI does in the winter when my furnace exhaust below it would trigger motion.

Great floodlight! Angle of view is a game changer. Very bright. 20% is more than enough for our big yard. Only drawback is it occasionally randomly lights up without a person reported sometimes even though it’s set to only light in person detection. No event detected it recorded. A little disturbing thinking there’s someone out there when there isn’t lol. Both of ours do this. Overall still an awesome product though.
