Best bang for the buck smartlock for deadbolts

There's no key, you can set fingerprint and code entries, it can be done person-by-person so you can see who is coming and going. Security seems good as well, and installation is easy/intuitive. If there's any struggles though, there's a video online or a walkthrough in the app to help along the way. Once things are up and running the lock was easily found in the app and consistently connects. I have been using the lock for about a month and things are going great so far. Also able to set an auto-lock timing in case you forget to push the button on your way in/out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Okay lock with some installation and usage issues

I've been using the Wyze Bolt Lock for a couple of keeps and found the following. Installation went okay with a few issue. The new bolt was larger then the hole in the door. The house is 15 years old so that shouldn't have been an issue. The strike plate took some work and wood removal to get into place.
As for the lock itself the construction is good. The fingerprint scanner is fast and accurate. There has been one time the lock has to be reset by taking out the battery as it just flashed red when activated. Overall it works okay but don't trust it will be reliable

Not too happy!! Purchased two of these and entered my fingerprint on both doors, shows on both doors; however my fingerprint don’t work on either door!! Frustrating and Aggravating but most of all, EXPENSIVE!! This is completely unbelievable. I have redone this several times and still does not recognize my fingerprint!! Should have kept my KwikSet lock!

Extremely disappointed!

Thinking I was upgrading from the Wyze Lock, the Lock Bolt is not only missing a ton of features like, Auto Unlock and recognizing when the door is open/closed, it is not “smart” at all. Locking the bolt while door is still open, and unable to lock immediately when the door is closed.
Really hoping a software update can get these features to it!

Disappointed in features

I understand the desire for some to not have the lock connected to the internet, but it would be better to have the same features if the Lock on the Lock Bolt, and give the option to the emu see to switch them on/off.
I have uninstalled my Bolt lock and went back to the original.

Can’t lock remotely

The entire point of a lock like this is the ability to lock and unlock remotely. This lock requires Bluetooth to do that, meaning that you have to be within 20 feet. It’s completely useless if you need to lock the door after giving a repair person or cleaner access while you are away.

Good, But Missing Wi-Fi

The Wyze Lock Bolt has a lot going for it, but there is one drawback that keep it from being the absolute best lock on the market. Here’s what I liked and what could be improved.
Easy Installation: First off, installation is a breeze. The instructions are clear, and I had it up and running in no time. If you’re not particularly handy, don’t worry—you’ll still find it easy to set up.
Solid Build Quality: The build quality is impressive. The Wyze Lock Bolt feels sturdy and secure, giving you peace of mind that your home is well-protected. The keypad is responsive, and the fingerprint sensor works quickly and reliably.
Convenient Features: I really like the auto-lock and unlock features. It’s super convenient to have the door lock behind you automatically and unlock when you’re nearby. The fingerprint sensor is a nice touch, allowing for quick access without needing to fumble for keys.
No Wi-Fi: Here’s where the Wyze Lock Bolt falls short: it doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi. This means you can’t manage it in the app when you’re away from home. For a smart lock, this is a pretty big drawback. This lack of Wi-Fi really limits the attractiveness of the lock and is keeping it from being the BEST lock on the market.
App Limitations: The Wyze app is great for setting up and managing the lock while you’re at home, but again, without Wi-Fi connectivity, you can’t control it when you’re away. This makes it less versatile compared to other smart locks on the market.
Great Value, But there is a reason: The Wyze Lock Bolt is affordable and offers solid security features, but the lack of Wi-Fi is a significant limitation. If you don’t need to control your lock while you’re away, it’s a good choice. But if remote management is important to you, you might want to look elsewhere.
Final Thoughts: Overall, the Wyze Lock Bolt is a good smart lock with some excellent features and solid build quality. However, the inability to connect to it via Wi-Fi is a major downside. I’d give it 3 stars—good for basic needs, but not the best option available.
