This was to replace a NightOwl 1K system 6 years old, which was beginning to fail in several areas. The new software is a HUGE improvement too.

Nice DVR great picture. But laggy, hence 3/5 avg

Very easy to setup, but the laggy video playback from the app and mobile app is very annoying. The picture is much wider than my older camera system, the picture from 1080p to 4K is about the same maybe a tad sharper. I just can't for the life of me figure out the lag issues. I have a 1G internet connection, I stream 4K movies on multiple devices all the time with zero issues. The Windows app is severely lacking in features and being able to change network settings or anything like that. Not even sure there is web gui built into the DVR to tweak it to maybe get rid of the lag? I am on the fence of ripping it all out and going back to my old camera system, if I can't rid the device of the lag. That is just unacceptable for the price you're paying for these cameras.

Super easy to get started

The initial setup was so easy. I literally powered on the DVR kit, downloaded the app and did everything form my phone. My older security system I had to have a TV connected to it and go through a ton of steps just to get the cameras on the screen, then had to still go through the app. This new DVR is all setup from the app without ever needing to connect a TV. The 4K quality is fantastic, I'm really impressed about how long the color stays on even at night before the black and white night vision. I'm very happy about my purchase.

I love this product! Easy set up! All I had to do was plug it in my DVR and set it up using my phone on the Night owl APP. I didn't any other hardware. Love the 4k quality and loud siren on the cameras.

These cameras are better than I expected easy set up and work perfectly I had a slight issue about changing the resolution but I didn’t know how to so customer service helped me and they fixed it in just a few minutes! customer service kicks as with this company. can I say kicks as? well I hope so anyway they’re awesome
