I upgraded from the old 1080p system to the 4K and it is a significant improvement. Not only is resolution 4 times better but the night vision is much brighter, the lens angle is wider, and the Night Owl Protect app is significantly better than the old app. The added refinements make this system so much better
I would recommend this to a friend!

The cameras disconnect from the DVR frequently regardless if they are one room away from the system or across the building. Their application to view the cameras is buggy and will not connect to the system half the time
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I will never buy night owl again. And ive been using them since 2016. My 720 and 1080p cameras, and the old dvr are way better then these 4k. I'm so disappointed. Haven't had them for a year and the cameras are already having problems. The new dvr is useless. I don't understand why you guys took all the best features and got rid of them. I'm so mad i can't even explain all the problems I've encountered within the last 9 months.

I bought a refurbished hard wired system from night owl and couldn’t be happier. From the infrared indicators on the cameras them selves to the facial recognition capabilities of the system itself, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Not just adding a feeling of 6 new watch standers for my home it’s also stands out from the neighboring systems it provides visual indicators conveying that this is not the property to be trespassed upon.

have my unit in the garage. I will need cord extensions for the far side of the house (3 cameras). I have a difficult time adding my wife on her phone via night owl protector app, I have a difficult time retrieving my password to view the dvr from a monitor. Other than that great value and would recommend to anyone

I’m not sure how good or bad the system is, I’m unable to set up an account using the recommended app. I can put all of my info in, but the continue button does not do a thing. I can’t set up an account, and I can’t go forward. I guess Monday I’ll have to call at lunchtime
