Exciting to Install

I am glad I purchased the Night Owl security set. After researching a dozen other systems, and meticulously reading all the features and pros/cons (and taking advantage of the holiday discount), I new this was the right choice. I had a friend help with the wired install (with 6 cameras with light and voice) took a good part of a whole day), and after loading the app was in business! Next is the doorbell.
Also, I had a question on the shipment and Night Owl answered my email within 2 hours! Now that's service.
I would recommend this to a friend!

DP8-12 wired camera system…..

I bought this item/kit, and the first one was DOA (no output signal yo the TV), the replacement one DID come fairly quickly but I was getting a weak output signal from it too as the TV would flash off and on, Customer Experience

but I used another hdmi cable and it seems OK for now. Overall, I like the pictures and the camera coverage. If it wasn’t for the first dvr being faulty, I would have given it 5 stars.

It would be nice if we can add 12 views in Night Owl Protect app. There is an options for 8 or 16 but not 12.

Great residential camera system

Took me almost a year to run all the wires myself (inside and outside). Was NOT interested in "lazy man's" wireless camera's. Your just asking for issues with connections!! All my cameras work perfectly. The app works great. Can see all pictures clearly. Is it the best out there? Probably not but I was not willing to spent unlimited money on cameras! If I'm home I can see who's outside. If I'm not home and see someone, I'm on my way or a quick call to my neighbor! Perfect peace of mind! Thanks guys!!

Terrible system

I originally purchased a 1080 system and had many issues hiring out the problems. Decided to go with the 4K Wireless. Terrible decision. Cameras communication is terrible. DVR software for playback is difficult and poorly designed. Speaking with technicians, most do not have any technical background except what's written in their predetermined script. I would not buy their system.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago to replace a NightOwl system that was several years old and the cameras stopped working. 6 cameras are nice and the added feature of adding 4 wireless cameras is a nice plus. The new cameras have one drawback, namely they are hard to position; they do not have the mobility of the previous cameras. In order to get an upright video I needed to create several wooden bases in order for camera to point in the correct direction. The images are great at 1080. The verbal command (optional) is poor quality--a very scratchy "Smile, you're being recorded"; difficult to understand. The remote viewing app for my phone and ipad works well once you get used to it. I had some trouble getting it to work. It occasionally lost connection and I needed to log out then log back in, but overall it works well. I like the new, improved software for identifying saved clips and playing them back. This works better on phone/ipad than on the DVD from my monitor. Overall a very good system and much improved over my previous NightOwl system. I was able to use my existing BNC cable which made installation much easier.
I would recommend this to a friend!
