Fabulous dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wonderful dishwasher. If there was any negative, it would be that it seems to hold a little less than our old dishwasher so I end up running it daily. It is super quiet - I love that, and works fabulously. The cycle times are quite long, though, but I just plan accordingly.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I always find it interesting when people keep a dishwasher where they have to wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. You will not have to do that with this Kitchen Aid. Everything comes out clean and dry. I am pretty hard on my dishwashers as I have a very large family so we are running it at least twice a day. This is a great dishwasher!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the features and how quiet it is. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the door swings down to fast and bangs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We enjoy the dishwasher except we very much dislike the bottom drawer. It is very hard to make the dishes stand up correctly. We would like a different bottom drawer if you have one.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have now owned this dishwasher for about a month and we are thrilled with it. It is very well-made and cleans so much better than the previous one that we owned from another manufacturer. The last one was not very old, but did not clean well. This one leaves our dishes spotless, even on the normal cycle. I love the door open drying option as it allows any water that may pool on top of a bowl or cup to evaporate before I have to put it away. It also projects a timer on the floor to show how long the cycle has left to complete. Our house has an open living room/kitchen area and you can't hear the dishwasher running. The only way we know it's on is when we see the timer. Great dishwasher and I highly recommend it to anyone.
We've had this for 6 months. It is a big disappointment vs. other KitchenAids we've had in the past. Especially given the price point. Main issues:
- The top rack is essentially non-functional- the sprayers don't cover most of the rack area there so things don't get clean (the FreeFlex Fit Third Level rack is significantly different that the FreeFlex in our last model). - Dishes don't get dry. Either the auto-open feature doesn't help or the traditional drying capability was significantly downgrading when they added the auto-open feature. - Very small overall.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved my old KitchenAid that this was replacing. The new top 2 racks are terrific and versatile. But the old bottom rack was much better. I can fit much fewer plates and things in the bottom rack.
