Cleans well but terrible dish layout.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been users of Kitchenaid appliances for over 40 years. They have always been a quality product. Our latest dishwasher recently installed cleans very well however we are very disappointed in the pull out two bottom dish baskets. They don't hold as many dishes as the model it replaced. The tines of the baskets are too short to properly support the regular dinner plates on the bottom pullout & glasses fall over on the middle pullout.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay but WHY did I wait so long to get this dishwasher?! 😅
My new KitchenAid 39 DBA PrintShield™ Dishwasher is seriously next level — whisper quiet, super sleek, and that FreeFlex™ Third Level Rack fits everything I used to have to hand wash. 🙌
Plus, the PrintShield™ finish means no more fingerprints! (If you know, you know.) Easy installation!

Love it, Inside and Out

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new dishwasher has been installed for only a week and I already love it. The stainless interior is beautiful and the three racks are great. I love the innovative cutlery basket and the top tier area for things like wooden spoons, spatulas and pastry brushes. I bought it because I wanted a dishwasher that would match the rest of my kitchen and the custom panel and handle certainly accomplish that. I chose Kitchen Aid because quality and reliability are associated with the name. (My contractor still needs to add panels to the top and bottom.) Incidentally, my contractor was very impressed during the installation. He especially liked the electrical box!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this dishwasher for a couple of weeks now. I do not love it nearly as much as I loved our Bosch. The racks are not very sturdy. Everything shifts around very easily and moves about when you are sliding the racks back and forth. In addition, the drying feature is not effective. No matter which option I select, everything is still soaked when the cycle is done. Very disappointed.

Nice dishwasher but poorly engineered racks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced our 3 rack, 17 year old Miele dishwasher with this Kitchenaid. The Kitchenaid is comparable; very quiet, water softener and 3 racks. We are very pleased with the quiet but all 3 racks are not sized as advertised and the lower rack that holds dishes is so very poorly designed. It barely holds one meals worth of plates because the rack is not consistent with the space and location of the tines. The top rack is supposed to hold 6” glassware on their side, but no, 5.5” would be pushing it. The silverware rack on right must be removed for a 6” glass to fit. We are very disappointed in the rack design but, so far happy with the low sound and good cleaning. Comparable to the Miele for sound and cleaning.

Terrible tray design
on December 7, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tray design here is horrible and wish I went with the Bosch. I’m trying to get it replaced. It doesn’t clean. Plates and cups don’t stay in position. They all fall over.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We apologize for the concerns that you are experiencing with your Dishwasher. Ensure the water supply valve is completely open; low pressure/volume hinders cleaning. Recommended pressure: 20-120 psi.
Check flood prevention devices; they can mistakenly restrict water flow.
Whirlpool Leak Detection: Flashes light and drains tub upon leak.
II. Chemical & Temperature
Rinse Aid is critical for drying and controlling hard water deposits (white film/spots). Keep dispenser filled.
Use a high-temperature wash option for heavily soiled items.
Detergent: High-quality pre-measured tablets/packs are strongly recommended for superior cleaning and white film reduction. Place in the main compartment.
Use automatic dishwasher detergent only (never hand soap). Hand soap creates suds that cause poor washing/leaks; let suds dissipate naturally.
Use fresh detergent, added just before starting.
For very hard water (15+ grains/gallon), a water softener is highly recommended.
III. Loading & Maintenance
Load correctly: Avoid overloading. Angle items toward the center for better spray and drying.
Plastic: Load in the third-level rack (if available); do not use the lower rack.
Clean the dishwasher: Use affresh® Dishwasher Cleaner (or white vinegar rinse) to remove internal mineral and detergent buildup (film, spots, on components like the pump, hoses, etc.)
