ok air conditioner

we purchased two 8000 and one 12000 BTU air conditioners and they are ok. I expected them to cool better and be more powerful. the ancient ones they replaced were much colder and we didn't have to set the temps so low. no doubt this is big brother's doing not the manufacturer. the are considerably smaller than older models which looks nicer in the window but I guess we gave up cooling for newness and style. not sure I would buy them again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does not cool efficiently

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My bedroom is not big and AC takes 3-4 hrs to cool the room, that too after setting temperature at 63 and it makes room temperature 73. No problem with noise.
Would not buy it again.

* Try installing your air conditioner on the shady side of your home/room. A window that faces north is best because it is shaded most of the day. Or, try keeping blinds and drapes in other windows closed during the sunniest part of the day.
* External house shading with trees, plants or awnings will help reduce the air conditioner’s workload.

This is the fifth Frigidaire air conditioner we have purchased. They all have styrofoam built in and it always becomes moldy with no way to clean it.

What a Disappointment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am sitting here on a HOT TEXAS night with a less than 6 month old Unit that is blowing nothing but air ! It started out great in the first few months but now all it does is make noise and blow a little bit of cold air and after a few hours it’s just from one vent and eventually just air ! I am getting on the phone first thing in the morning to see about returning this unit to where I bought it ! Plus I am out what I had to pay someone to come help me install it ! Frigidaire USED to be a highly trusted brand ! I am so disappointed and literally losing sleep because of this so called AC !!

A Quiet, Long Distance Runner!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Frigidaire 8000 BTU Window Mounted Room Air Conditioner for my vacation home this summer. First thing out of the box, I loved its sleek, attractive design. The unit was thoughtfully and carefully packed, and inside, I found a wealth of helpful materials to get me started up in no time.
Although installing the insulating side panels gave me a little bit of difficulty, once I figured that out, all went smoothly. The unit runs very quietly, and cools my living space as it should. I really love the remote control, which also shows what the temperature in the room is at, wherever it is placed. It was a hot summer this year, and although I don't like a room to be "over air conditioned," setting the temperature at 72 degrees was just perfect for me. You won't be disappointed with this unit; it's my second Frigidaire, and they are highly rated for a reason!
