Windmill AC 10k BTU whisper tech

This was my first time ordering a windmill and overall, the experience has been great. My old Frigidaire 8000 btu was on its last legs due to its age and very low levels of refrigerant. I initially ordered a windmill 8k unit without whispertech and it arrived within a few days without issue. After using it for a few days, it was definitely an improvement over the old one but still felt like it would need to run 24/7 to effectively cool my work studio, which was 280 sq/ft but with 12 foot ceilings. I’m on the the top floor of an industrial building with little to no insulation, hot air gets trapped for days when it is very hot and humid outside.
I opted to see if I could exchange the 8k btu unit for the 10k one. I emailed Windmill on a Saturday and they arranged for a private carrier to come on that Monday and take the current unit while delivering the new 10k unit. All I had to do was pay the difference between the two models. The new 10k unit was delivered on Monday at 5:30 and it could not have gone any smoother.
The new AC has been running for the last 10 days without a hitch and more importantly, my space is very cool and comfortable. Setup was a breeze, even the way the packaging was designed, the box comes right off after cutting the plastic tie down cables.
This model definitely cools the space down much quicker and I have set up automations to turn off a few hours after l leave and turn on a few hours before I arrive each morning so my space is nice and cool. These units are very well designed and built. And yes, they are definitely the quietest units I have ever owned. On the low fan setting which is what I normally have it set on, you can barely tell it’s on at all. Even on medium fan, it’s still much quieter than other big brand ACs. The whisper tech units are legit!
Highly recommended if you are looking for a new ac experience.

Worth the price, hands down

I recently moved into a century home in New York, and as such, I don't have central air. Rather than spend the several thousand putting in a central unit, the simplest solution was an ugly, loud window unit.
These are not that. They're surprisingly quiet. Especially compared to the portable unit I was using. Like, barely notice it's on quiet. And unlike my portable unit, this keeps my living room cold. Even this past week when temps were bordering 90ºf. Granted, I should have gone with the 10k unit, not the 8k, but it's working. So well that I ordered another for upstairs.
And while not the most important aspect to some, the fact it's aesthetically pleasing is a major plus. It's 90% the reason I chose it. It keeping the house cool is of course important, but any window unit can do that.
Also, the wifi features are nice. Sadly not HomeKit capable yet, though hopefully that will come soon with Matter. These are the only devices in the house that I need a separate app for. Not a dealbreaker, but will probably get annoying after a while.
(Special shout out to the customer service. I had an issue with my first unit and they took care of it. My unit is once again working as it should.)

hi, we are having some trouble with our unit. When put below mode fan 3 it rumbles and vibrates very loud to the point it is shaking our wall and windows in the bedroom. We also didn't receive the metal attachments to be able to screw it to the window.
We purchased the 10,000 btu unit in hopes it would cool down both our small bedroom and living room but this also isn't happening.

My AC unit had an issue and Windmill customer support helped me determine that the issue was not fixable. Without hesitation they sent me a new unit and my home is cool again. Windmill is the best!!!!!

definitely as advertised it is quiet and very cool. Do you have a trouble with the remote the battery was a little weak replace the battery and now it’s working well. Also, if you have an old home with old windows, I suggest you tighten up all those gaps and those windows because it will rattle the windows but once you do that, it’s very quiet overall I would recommend this air conditioner, especially if it’s in your bedroom

My Windmill Air has been great - it's easy to control and is fast acting. I like the Bluetooth connectivity and the ability to set automatic times for it to run.
