This literally just came yesterday and he stayed up half the night putting it together! This is definitely a masterpiece! I love that he can actually hang it up to display the picture.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was so much fun to do! It is a beautiful representation of the Mona Lisa. The directions were easy to follow and it didn’t take me much time to do. It’s absolutely beautiful. The design of this is so interesting with each layer, you build a 2-D model of the Mona Lisa. It seems to be durable as long as you make sure that the Legos are locked appropriately.

A surprising joy

Although I had Lego sets given as presents when I was a child, and having bought well over 75-100 sets for my own 3 children, this is the first I ever purchased for myself.
Although the idea of the set was cool and I went to look at it in the store, it wasn't until my wife suggested that I buy it for myself that I planned on doing so. My kids have had some pretty large sets coming with multiple books and several days working at the dining room table, putting them together, such as the full size millennium falcon or Boba Fett's Slave II, etc.
(Of course I wasn't shorted a single piece due to Legos thorough quality, assurance processes, so it was smooth building.) I told myself to go slowly to enjoy it, but really just wanted it done so I could see how it looked. With a one hour break for dinner, I had sat at the table on Saturday for about seven hours putting it together -what childhood joy. Thank you, Lego.

After seeing initial fan reaction to this, I was hesitant to purchase and build. I’m a big fan of the Lego art theme and decided to finally give this a try. It was a pleasant surprise! The gold frame is the standout for me, those gold pieces really set it off. The likeness of Mona Lisa is good enough given the limitations of Lego. Very satisfying at the end to put the piece in the frame and secure it with pins. If you’re a fan of Lego art or looking for a satisfying build, I would recommend this set all day.

This was one of the funnest sets I have ever done. Even building out the frame which you would think would be extremely boring was exciting to see it come together and the detail of the frame is great. The details of the finished product are great and I get several compliments on it.
