Good looking exterior…not so hot interior

The exterior of this set is very pleasing, but I was hoping for something similar to the blacksmith house with the interior. Everything feels very cramped and repetitive. I mostly have these sets as displays but if I want to interact the floors are not able to disconnect and they are very tight to get your hands in. The doorway on the red house is too small to even barely fit a minifig though and the stairs leading up to the tower are also too narrow. The single level houses are far better, like the cheese shop, simple yet a pleasing amount of detail. The exterior though is fantastic, this set really adds to the medieval atmosphere on my shelf.

Not as fun as I hoped

I have the blacksmith shop and thought this set would look nice with it, but it has not been fun to build. I have to find pieces from 10 bags ago such as keys and capes which someone has misplaced making the set feel incomplete. The cart doesn’t fit the goat nor have a horse to carry it. There are a lot of small builds that don’t go into the set which would be fun for play, but not for display. Overall just not having fun building this one.

Unfinished Business

I really wanted to like this set, but it just feels so incomplete. I have quite the collection of modern castle sets from both Lego as well as a few (or have 1 pre-ordered the other) from the BrickLink designer program so I have a good sense of what AFOL oriented sets should be like. This one missed the mark, everything is half built when compared to the blacksmith, Lion knight castle, castle in the forest, Maestros Workshop, viking village, etc. They tried to put too much into the set to give it variety but it just feels like 5 half sets to me. I will probably buy a second set to finish everything out, amdaybe that was Lego groups intention for those of us who want more.

Door warped
on July 14, 2024

One of the doors in the set, piece number 6254792 is warped or deformed where it hinges. As a result, it will not close or swing freely when attached. I've sent requests to get the piece replaced online. I'm told I will get a confirmation email saying but I haven got a confirmation email saying my claim on the broken piece has been received. I can't finish the set with a broken door. Be nice if the request replacement piece process was functioning as it should so I could get this warped broken door replaced.

Good medieval set but too much equals not enough

This is a pretty good set visually to add to Lion's Knight. But I'm a fan of the Medieval Blacksmith set for its quality and completeness. I would rather these buildings were split up into sets and had more completeness, whimsy and lore. Attend a decent renaissance fair and you'll see some ideas. Here are a few ideas that I'd like to see as more completed sets. A medieval farm, a medieval house (maybe two in a set), cheese maker and shop, hearth and bread shop, a shipbuilder and dock, a stable with adjoining jousting area, a painter and early science building, a fairgrounds area, a tavern, an inn, an abbey, etc. There's plenty of king arthur, robin hood, fairy tales and even disney-allusion type stuff from the era to throw some lore and whimsy in. I know these set ideas can be found in unofficial sources, but no one does it better than Lego.

Way to great, way overpriced

I am getting into Castle themed sets recently and I love architecture. This set is great, however I feel like it would have been cheaper to have by credit card stolen. I would have understood if this was a licensed theme with characters and a universe already established but this is Lego's own theme and should be priced appropriately.

Missing pieces!!

My son loves Lego and owns 100s of sets. He has never had a set that was missing a piece. This set was missing 3 pieces and this was his Christmas gift. Very disappointing that he could not even build his Christmas gift on Christmas due to missing pieces. What a bummer.
