Cool set

This medieval set is very detailed and looks amazing You should definitely get it if you’re into the medieval times. This is definitely one of my new favorite sets starting off with the tax collector minifigure and the detail of the cheese factory with the cheese stand and the goat pen then going to the watchtower connected to one of the houses. Overall the set looks neat with how it was design like the roof top and the walls of the houses only thing that could had made it a little better was to add more farm animals other than that it’s a cool set and gives hope to the future that Lego continues producing new medieval theme sets. I will definitely be using this set in a project I’m working on, A big display of the vikings attacking a big medieval castle/village. I definitely will be getting more sets and change up the colors a bit of the shops to create a big village 😁

Enjoyably medieval

This was my first set for myself in ages. Usually I’m buying for my three sons but lately I bought the Lego flowers for the Mrs. We had a blast building them together that I decided to build my own. What I realized is Lego still feels amazing to build no matter how old someone gets. It’s a great date idea too because instead of a movie and silence you can build something together and have funny little conversations as if your the king and queen etc. looking forward to more castle builds, this was fun, easy to follow along like always, and every detail was beautifully crafted. No complaints from me.

Falling short in the design application

I like the idea of the set and the features of the various artisans was wonderful but the overall build is very disappointing for the price of the set. For display or for play there needs to be consistency in the design. A standard door way and walkways is 4 studs wide this build was designed with some doors being the standard 4 but then the tower nad the red house is changed to only 2 wide for the steps and the door. The door looks more like an ironing board than a pass through. For the price of the set the proper measurements for the stairs and doorways could have been done correctly. Also the ceiling heights are the same way in one building it would be the proper height the. In another only a child Lego figure can be placed in the room. These lazy building techniques are acceptable for a small set but when it get to be over the hundred dollar range you owe it to the customer to not cheap out.

We’re sorry to hear your building experience with the Medieval Town Square set was disappointing. We want our builders to feel inspired and have lots of fun building their new sets. We’ll share your suggestions with our design teams so they know where we’ve missed the mark this time.

Very Sweet, Detailed, And Fun Model

I specifically chose the Medieval Town Square to go alongside the Lion Knight's Castle, and am very happy to have it. The sweet details each room and space have; the various Castle references; all the playability functionality; the design, craftsmanship, and attention to detail; and the overall feel of the set are are very special, and I will appreciate this, particularly alongside the Lion Knight's Castle, for many years to come.

A Blast to Build

I got this set not too long ago (duh, it’s only been out for a few weeks). But I had a really good time constructing it. I made a few errors but I was also very tired at the moment. A little lacking in the content department for the price but still worth it in my opinion. I really like the “doll housing” technique (doll housing is where the inside is accessible like a dollhouse). Where you could fold it in and you couldn’t see inside for display but you can unfurl the buildings to make the inside accessible. That’s all I have to say.

Obvious piece count inflation
on May 23, 2024

As a castle fan I have to get this set. However after building it, I am not too happy about it. The end result looks ok and pairs well with other castles. The problem I have is throughout the build there are so many times it is using small pieces of the same color which can be easily replaced by a big piece which will have better stability and building experience. It is obvious Lego is trying hard to inflate the piece count so you feel you are getting a good value. As a Lego fan, I don’t like this trend.

A three but a FIVE!

SO I had a lengthy review all typed out but had to shorten it, this is my message to LEGO about its creation. Which I must say the Lions knight castle got me to buy lego again after 25 years, in balanced terms of size, beauty, fun for all ages and sexes, mix of town and military etc... is the best set they have ever made and I could not miss out. The only down side is some of the lack of context without many complimentary sets to go with it. So thankfully we got that perfect compliment in the town square. I would give it a perfect score but for a few things.... namely the use of stickers in an ICON set, just should not be. Castle is the legacy that built the brand and should be chock full of prints (like they are doing for other sub themes) and accessories. If you are going to make these high price point set then they really should be so full of life that nothing more could be wanted. While the build is impressive and so are the minis that are there, it still feels like it is missing something... such as the parents to the cheese maker, or some more animals, a horse for the tax collector, a well or statue, jester booth, another market stall etc... What I have here is a great start but not quite feeling like a town square yet. If you are not going to do that then could have also broken this down into 3 sets, one for the farm complex, and 2 more for the broken axes inn and guarded tower as separate complete builds. This would allow each to include more accessories and details, and with a combined price that would overall cost more to the consumer but at smaller intervals. Unfortunately because you are not going all out on castle (yet) most of my budget is being spent on 3rd party pieces to subsidize my own mocs and get the details like forest animals that are needed to bring these builds to life. This is not good for me the consumer nor you the producer that would surely not want to miss out on sales. If you are considering getting this or the lions knight castle then as long as budget can accommodate I would not hesitate other than wait for good GWP's. (they are beautiful fun, and perfect lego theme) Which BTW lego I am also not a fan of this marketing stratedgy as this would have been a day one purchase but now I am trained to wait for relevant GWP but we really have no idea what we are waiting for and that just soils the excitement. Things like the parts packs are good but not the desirable set like objects that seem to have off release timing that does not reward the consumer but caters to the reseller. And I was missing 5 pieces out of one bag! So while this is a home run hit it kind of is also an average attempt that could have been so much better. I hope to see more, whats next? Thank you.
