Amazing Grill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought several months ago and absolutely love this grill because it can be used as a traditional kamado (self settimg vent positions) or can be used in an automatic mode where you set the temperature and the unit maimlntains temperature automatically and can be changed via a phone app. Weekends I enjoy the manual option and during the week when I am working can still help cook using the konnected feature. The konnected feature is also very helpful when someone not familiar with the kamado wants to grill something because all they have to do is set the temp, push the ignite button and they're good to go.

Super Easy to Master

Dump your Kamado Joe big block lump charcoal in, light it with the Kamado Joe lighting squares, step away to prep you food then place it on the grill, that’s it! No fussing around with dampers, just set the temperature and walk away!

Excited to Learn More About Smoking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been talking about getting a smoker for quite some time. My wife and kids made the decision for me for my birthday. I couldn't have been happier then when the delivery truck pulled up and brought me my surprise present. I have been able to use it twice in the past few weeks and am blown away with how easy it is with this smoker. I have watched a lot of videos showing how to smoke but with the technology that has been put into this model, non of those made any sense. About the only thing that I have to focus on is the type of meat and which rub I want to use. It is just a mater of plugging it in and watching it work. The smell of the smoke and the cooking of the meat makes my mouth water in anticipation of the end product. My first adventure was to try to smoke a Pork Shoulder. It came out smelling and tasting amazing. My second experience was doing a smoked Turkey Meatloaf. It too came out amazing. It was so good that my wife and I had it finished in a couple of days. I am looking forward to my next chance to try out something on my smoker. It is so much easier than all of the video that I had watched in the past.

I love this grill!

I love how easy it is just to hit the ignite button and set the temperature and walk away to let the grill do everything on it own.

The best charcoal smoker in the world

I bought it 2 months ago for smoking meat and searing and I use it everyday since then (I do an animal based diet). It cooks meat very well, easy to clean and use. Hasn’t given me any problems yet. My only feedback is that it only came with 1 temperature probe instead of 2.

When it works it’s great

I bought the connected joe in July 2024. It worked great for 5 cooks but then the problems. Started getting errors. So they warrantied the front control board, didn’t work, replaced the back didn’t work, finally they agreed to have the whole thing replaced with a new one. Now that took a total of 4 months roughly. For the new one, worked great for a month and the fan quit working. They warrantied the back that has the fan but took 4 months to get the part because it was on backorder. So far I’ve cooked on it twice. So far so good. I can tell you I’ve had about 10 total cooks on it with it working 100 percent since July 2024. I just bought a small fan and put it on front to control the temp. If I had to do it over again, I would have got the classic and installed a fire board with fan.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A life changer

I’ve been gas grilling for many years and kettle charcoal grilling before that, but I’ve not had such tasty and juicy results before having the Konnected Joe in my life. I’ve done a beer can chicken, spatchcock chicken, pork loin, and turkey burgers so far. No low-and-slow yet, but I have a Joetisserie coming soon so that will be one of the next things I try. I’ve done pizzas twice and my whole family has loved how they’ve turned out compared to oven baked.
The Kamado style grill is definitely a step above any other grill I’ve ever had in terms of being a serious BBQ tool. I immediately realized all the benefits of having a ceramic shell and the moisture/temperature retention that it brings with my first cook. It was easily the best chicken I’ve ever cooked on a grill, which meant I could not wait to start my second the next day. The versatility of this style of grill is truly impressive. Smoke, sear, bake, grill, cold smoke, rotisserie, wok, and Dutch oven. My wife and I are really enjoying how suddenly expanded our outdoor cooking options are now. Truly life changing.
Being new to this style of grill, I was grateful for the front panel temperature control and app connectivity. I’m planning to do a manual cook soon so I can start getting a hang of how to manipulate the top/bottom vents, but for now I’m actually really enjoying the quality of the technology features. It’s really quite an experience to be able to set the accessory mode and desired temperature, press the AFS button, and then simply sit back and let the grill do its thing. I’ve been impressed with how fast it has reached temp and then how well it regulates itself. The meat probe has been quite precise and I appreciate having three weathertight plugs available for those. Overall, the Konnected Joe has been quite easy to use and flawless, which speaks to the luxurious quality of the grill build and overall brand.
To finish, I’m still a bit star struck that I was able find this high of a caliber grill at a price that I could afford. It has provided an absolutely stellar experience so far with a variety of cooks and makes many culinary options that I’ve been wanting to explore a reality.
One improvement that I would ask for is to be able to name my sessions in the app. As is, I’d have to keep a journal to know what I cooked on which date.

I have owned many grills and smokers but nothing has compared to the Konnected Joe. The conscience of lighting the grill, the consistent temperature and the app makes cooking a joy. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great grilling experience.
