We want to help you with the sound level and balance of washer. We recommend making sure you are loading your items evenly and loosely around the outside of the basket, filling in towards the center on larger loads. This will make sure that the unit stays in balance. You can find additional information on the following article: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=000063110

If the issue persists after troubleshooting, we recommend scheduling an appointment with one of our Bodewell technicians by calling 1-833-4BODEWELL or online here: https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service.

We bought this for our lake house, so got the basic model as it is not used on a weekly basis. Other reviews mentioned the loud noise the machine makes. I thought- “just close the laundry room door!”. Nope, doesn’t help, it is still loud. There is no notification sound that the cycle has ended. Despite these annoyances, the washer seems to do a good job of cleaning our laundry (mostly sheets and towels).

Needlessly complicated, fails to achieve Washing

Bought this less than a month ago and struggled with it since then until last night when it flat out wouldn't do anything but flash lights at me. The water level was insufficent, even on the 'Max' setting so I would need to add buckets of water. The agitator doesn't agitate, it merely gently swishes back and forth. There apparently is no Rinse cycle unless you press Deep Rinse and then it does rinse. Spin cycle is absurd, spins for 20 minutes unless I stop it.I don't get me clothes dirty except on the weekends, it didn't was them properly. Had repairman from the store I bought it and he said it was normal and that's they way they all are. He never bothered to read the fault codes. Wrote a real letter to GE consumer Affairs and have yet to have anyone reach out to me. I have been washing clothes, buying washer for 50 years and have never experienced anything so frustrating. Have been things to do with my life than go to Small Claims Court but guess that's my next step. Whoever designed this piece of junk is a moron, and anyone at GE who thinks I can be ignored is sadly mistaken. My brother-in-law, who graduated Law School at Marquette always told me I was a better lawyer than he ever was. But he went straight and drove truck most of his life.

3 Service calls and it is still not working right. Many symptoms. Very loud. Auto water level never gets it right. Spins like a demon. Techs have said some features do not work at all. Must always select High to get enough water. Replaced control panel no change. GE still refusing to do anything about it except 4th tech visit. Has to be classified "UNREPAIRABLE" We shall see. Maybe your experience will be different but would I buy this one again? NOT a Chance!

Response from manufacturerBy Sarah, Haier_Appliances, June 10, 2026
We’re sorry to hear the service appointments haven’t yet solved the issues you’re having with your washer. We’d like to address your situation.

Regarding the water level specifically, we can advise that over the years the amount of allowable water used in washing machines has been reduced by the Department of Energy, who sets these standards. As washing machines have become more efficient, they use much less water and energy to get the same or higher level of cleanliness as older models. It is normal for the wash basket not to be full of water as most washers are programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size selected. For more information about the amount of water used for your model, please visit this link: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=19491.

After reviewing our system, we see you have an active case and have recently been in touch with one of our team members. We’ve updated your case with the information you’ve provided here, and our team member will review your situation again as soon as possible. We’re confident they’ll be able to assist you with reaching a resolution.
