Unable to rate as I had to return it as defective due to internal water leak discovered upon setup.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Buy the extended warranty

Two months old and it stopped working. Tomorrow after over 2 weeks without my washer they will install the part that hopefully fixes it. I liked the washer when it worked. Glad I bought a 5 year extended warranty.

Great Washer with true agitator!

My wife is absolutely thrilled with her new washer! I suggested this one to her because it is the old time washer with a true agitator. And boy does it agitate! She was tired of the HE Maytag I bought 8 years ago, even before it started to malfunction. It had an impeller/agitator that just didn’t get the clothes completely clean. This Hotpoint washer does a fantastic job getting everything clean and spins out like crazy too. Very simple selector knobs with just enough options to do anything you could ask for in washing. The tub is a nice size too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The long spin cycles cuts way back on drying time.

Very different from my other machine. But I love it. The washer takes up less room, but has a bigger capacity and being very short I can reach the bottom to remove clothes easily. It amazes me that a lot of the rinse cycle is while the basket is spinning. Cleans well.
