Disappointed with GE

I have been operating this GE model for several months. The only negatives are water levels are never sufficient, as your load are never fully covered with sufficient water, no matter what settings you use. It's noisy and any glitches in cycles require you to reset machine by unplugging it! This defeats the purpose of doing laundry, if you have to babysit the wash cycles. I selected this model based on my past GE products that I have purchased, I regret my decision.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd like to assist you with the water level, sound level, and glitching of your washer. With water levels, the Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a basket full of water. This is normal. Most are now programmed with load sensing to adjust the water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount used will vary.
When it comes sounds, it is normal for the unit to make sounds while in operation. However making sure the unit is level can possibly help with the sound level. To level the washer, adjust the leveling legs by rotating the individual leg in the proper direction for up or down. You can refer to the following article for more information on sounds: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21894
As far as the glitches in the cycle, since unplugging the unit and plugging it back in is required for it to operate properly, we recommend service. You can schedule a service appointment with a Bodewell technician by calling 833-426-3393 or schedule online at https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service

Very satisfied with my Hotpoint Washer
on October 19, 2025

I bought this Hotpoint washer over the summer as a replacement to my 18 yr old Kenmore front loader. So far I am 100% pleased with my purchase. There is a learning curve to this washer as it does not operate like a traditional top loader that would have had higher water levels. High efficiency is the objective here. So in my experience smaller loads are better and produce far greater results. The normal cycle is fairly quick especially if you are not using the deep rinse. I do experiment by increasing my load sizes and so far I have had great results. I also feel the bulky cycle works well with larger loads instead of the normal cycle. I’ve also washed lightweight quilts and afghans in the machine with good results. It is a cheaper washer, so go easy on it. Take the heavy quilts and rugs to the front loaders at the laundromat. That’s what those are designed for. This is more a home washer for clothing, towels, sheets and lighter bulky items.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Installed and already have a load of laundry in. It actually fills all the way with water and agitates the clothes like the older ones used to. I see bubbles in my washer again!!!

We recommend checking to be sure your washer is level by reviewing page 22 of the Owner's Manual - https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--esnlivKk--/o60hz6zrissnlkutq8qc.pdf-
Also, please review the loading instructions on page 15 and be sure not to wrap large items around the agitator. If you continue to have this issue, please contact our GE Appliances service team - Bodewell at 1-833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET to have your washer evaluated and repaired as needed.

First wash and machine shaking a lot should not be vibrating and very noisy washing clothes
Response from manufacturerBy Dianna, Haier, October 27, 2025
We would like to provide some guidance to help with the shaking/vibrating and noise. Some shaking/noise is normal. Your dryer unit may be sitting unevenly. We would recommend moving the dryer to an even floor space or adjusting legs as necessary until even. We also have an article titled "Top Load Washer - Noises Heard During Agitation" linked below that will have the normal sounds that your unit will make.https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21894

I stayed with my sister in law while our mobile home was built and fell in love with the options and efficiency of this washer, so I got the exact same one as her now.
