Former GE washer was a disaster. I was so glad when it quit working. Purchased a Hotpoint, with an agitator as a replacement in March 2026. Although the Hotpoint does not seem to spin quite as dry, we are very pleased. The Hotpoint has not gotten out of balance once!

We are so glad to hear you are pleased with the performance. We want to help you with the clothes not spinning out as much as expected. Oversudsing from too much detergent may slow down the final spin cycle, causing a suds lock. The use of HE High Efficiency detergent will decrease the chance of a suds lock. Use HE detergent only and be sure to use the recommended measured amount. Run a drain/spin cycle if this has occurred to remove the excess water in the clothes.
Not happy with the washer. Doesn’t handle heavier loads well. Gets off balance easy no matter size of load.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd like to assist you with the balancing issues with your washer. We recommend making sure you are loading your items evenly and loosely around the outside of the basket, filling in towards the center on larger loads. This will make sure that the unit stays in balance. I don’t like it. There is no casual setting. The water doesn’t fill high enough. It’s not a good washer. I picked horribly

Over the years, the amount of allowable water used in washing machines has been reduced by the Department of Energy (DOE), who sets these standards. As washing machines have become more efficient, they use much less water and energy to get the same or higher level of cleanliness as older models. It is normal for the wash basket not to be full of water as most washers are programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size selected. We recommend that the washer is loaded properly to ensure optimal performance. You can find recommendations for how to load your washer in the product’s manual. For more information about the amount of water used for your model, please visit this link: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-searchcontent?contentId=19491.
This washer does not have a casual cycle. We will pass your feedback on this option along to our product team for review.
