Washer NON-Functioning as Brand New

Washer was BRAND NEW. Never been used. Lid locked down and would not release. I online researched a way to release the lid. Got the lid to open but the washer would NOT function. Had to contact customer service and they sent out a local appliance repairman. Parts needed ordered and I’m still waiting for completion of repair. My opinion is that GE should have simply sent a NEW functioning washer out to replace the faulty one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointing

This machine takes ages to wash clothes and if you put it on quick cycle the clothes are not washed properly

Water doesn't cover my laundry on max fill.

This washer has a large drum and 5 water level settings, low, medium, high, max, and precise, but none of the settings fill the drum more than half full and doesn't cover my laundry all the time. Sometimes my laundry comes out with dry spots on them. I wish I would have kept my 30+ old one and just paid to fix it when it stopped draining the water out. These new ones are junk.

We want to help out with the water level you are noticing. It can be normal to notice a lower water level than traditional washers. This is due to this unit being a high efficiency washer, which uses less water to provide the same level of clean. You can check page 8 in the user manual for more information. Best of both worlds!

You get the benefit of having a newer he washer with water sensing to have just the right amount of water, or you can also choose the amount of water if you want just like with older washers. Also, you have the option to have water sensing for the wash cycle but more water with deep rinse for the rinse cycle. It's all the benefits of a new washer with the one thing people loved about older ones...you can use how much water you want! Lastly, the agitator does not take up a lot of room and the drum is very big. I'm so pleased!
